Your teacher may not have understood it properly or maybe it was just a simplified version of the subject, but regardless of what you learned in school, 1 is not considered a prime number.
For the first item it's been too long since I ran that raid and paid attention to the text so I don't recall exactly what's said.
Yeah. Personally, I still don't get it and I've been around awhile and ran that raid a bunch of times. But I'm also terrible at math. All my life after high school I have only need the 4 basics. Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. It took me years to gain even a basic understanding of regular high school algebra. Don't think I was ever taught primes. If I was it didn't stick and/or I don't remember, which is the most likely scenario. Again, I'm terrible at math. lol When I run that raid I try to be a tank so I can just invuln my way through that boss. I take my 1 in 4 chance every time the addition/subtraction phase comes up. Sometimes I get lucky, sometimes I don't. My brain just refuses to learn for whatever reason.
Imagine looking up dictionaries for a definition instead of a number theory textbook. SAD!
1 is not prime because it would literally break all math involving prime numbers (which includes cryptography) if it were considered prime. Simplest example: Prime Factorization. Every integer n > 1 has a single unique prime factorization. If 1 is prime, then that falls apart because instead of 4 having a single prime factorization 2 * 2, it now has infinite prime factorizations 2 * 2 * 1^n for all n members of the counting numbers.
