Hopefully the actual reason the horns/tail weren't present is because on the finalized job those are also going to transform to be more voidsent-esque, which I could totally get behind...though I think I'd still like an option to just retain our original appearance instead.
Edda better be the job trainer.
I’m intrigued as well, because I didn’t notice right away, by when the reaper merged with the voidsent she essentially became a female midlander. And I immediately thought of Edda. Though picturing Roes and Hrothgar becoming Edda makes me laugh.
kind of looks like it's dragoon with a bent spear and a little ghosty guy instead of a little blue dragon
time will tell...
If Reaper has positional requirements for any of its abilities, it will just be another melee I won't play. I'm not a fan of melee to begin with, but positionals beyond "hit it from the back" are a non-starter for me.
I guess something like Magus from Chrono Trigger.
As for positionals, I'm wondering if it might be a melee with no positionals but instead with more technical depth than the other melees like maybe having to actually directly control your partner and weave it's abilities in between your own attacks.
I'm going to quote a great werewolf here: Not all children of the night are evil.
BLM and THM are all about overwhelming their opponents with destructive force through the black magic they practice.
Then as being a WoL they are immune to any form of tempering so it's not out of the realm of feasible to touch the void and control a lesser being. As for the job trainer and questline... well lets just say a vendetta is a powerful fuel for one's willpower.
Animations are cool but this is probably something I'll cap and never touch again. A lil too edgy for my taste.
Every melee DPS has positional would be nice to just not have them on a class so I am not wasting button on True North.
Half the time in dungeons as DRG I feel the damage increase is small and is only really noticeable to me on Monk.
Positional make sense on Ninja/Monk for striking the right spot but I feel with maiming weapons it isn't going to matter since you are piercing through them anyway.
Very unlikely that Reaper won't have a positional. Perhaps the 'berserk mode' might have a true north kind of trait attached.
Usually when new jobs are announced, I'm kind of like "Ok cool. I'll level it to cap and probably never touch it again". But Reaper looks really exciting so far. I've always mained melee, so another melee job is definitely ok with me. Reaper is the first announced job where I might actually switch it to my main if it interests me enough. Definitely looking forward to it.
