Losing loot when INV is full.

Yeah sometimes During LS events i'm asked to switch jobs, maybe we get a pick me up and he only has one lvl 50. its good to be prepared, after all FFXIV is all Rush Rush Rush if your in a pick me up party and you show up without a few needed gear pieces you think there going to wait on you to go get them, hah keep dreaming.

not once did i ever say i didn't have any room, besides don't fool yourself you going to need more than 5 slots, you need at least 15 slots for crap drops from mobs before you even get to the good stuff.

I'm sorry if the people you go with are not patient enough to wait for you to go get your items off your retainer ; ;. I know if I'm in a party and someone needs 5 minutes to get their equipment, it is never a bother for me! If someone forgets something and I have a spare, I offer it as well (sometimes WHM forgets their Iffy or Moogy weapon so I offer a spare Jade Crook).

Also, usually with LSs, we seem to know who will go as what ahead of time. And to be honest.. almost always.. isn't it: WAR, or WHM, or BLM? If a BRD, great. (I know, poor MNK/DRG/PLD ; ;...). So typically we have to only worry about 2-4 sets on us.

That being said, I believe the issue can be solved with:
Being with nice people who will wait 5 minutes (rather than: LOL! NEWB! NOES GEARZ!! LOLZZ! /KICK!)
A little foreward planning (Don't show up to a Fire Fight with a Fork?)
And a bit of dilligent spring cleaning before going into a dungeon where you want to loot stuff...

kinda wish having special & currency items as separate inventory like Gil. I'm talking about beastcoins, tapers, keys, easter eggs, etc. ;D

This is not the case, as usual you are being unreasonable in your accusations, people want easy and fast ways to drop and sell loots, as has been mentioned above in most mmos you don't pick up every crappy little item you have the choice of what you pick up.

Most MMO's have right click to sell from your inventory, you can sell 3-4 items a second if your inventory is sorted correctly. (oh and the servers are fast enough)

Most players (I'll generalise here) want some kind of way to tell how full their inventory is by looking at the main UI, such as the bag UI they are adding in 2.0 in the picture I linked to.

All the above things I have mentioned in a previous post yet you seem hell-bent on ignore them and trolling the thread.

Well as I also mentioned previously the pure nature of addons is to allow you to do things faster and in some cases automate a process to make it less bothersome.

Call that lazy if you want, but that's kind of stating the obvious.

Folks this discussion isn't about lag it's about SE needing to babysit stupid players. Read the OP again. It's not about the few seconds it takes to clear stuff from your inventory. It's about SE basically writing code so that we never have to clear our inventories, but when we do, we'll get all th glorious items that we were to dumb to make room for before battle.

That's not what the thread is about either.

Ya know this constant holier than thou sarcastic bullshit makes these forums tedious as hell.

It's actually worse than the Aion and WoW forums in here at times.

Edit:- And to be honest the loot list is basically already what the OP is asking for, it puts your extra items in a suspended inventory box until you either make room or the timer runs out, of course we have since moved on from that and talked about the 2.0 UI and pop up instructions on leaving an instant to notify that your inventory is full and you have loot in the loot list.

Instead of being an ass why not give constructive feedback and idea's.

I did, my feedback is: don't be stupid, clear your inventory.

You have to have limits to an inv system. We have that now. If you don't have room, stuff goes into your loot list. Clear some space to make room and the stuff in your loot list goes into your bag. Why the hell would we need more that that? We don't. If you want what's in your loot list clear space for it. it couldn't be more easy. Guess what, it takes no dev work to impliment, but it does require players to use thier heads, which is something most posters around here are not akin to it seems. Fortunately, it seems most in this thread agree with me.

Well the dev team are already in the process of rectifying part of the issue, which is the none viability of inventory space.

If you know when your inventory is full you are then more likely to make space .. d'oh

You will no doubt say .. well you can see your inventory is full by looking at the chat log, but we all know how fast that flies by when in battle.

it wont rectify the issue cuz the same people will fill their inventorys again even with less slots used from the event/af not being there, and then they will whine and complain again

this isnt a game issue as some of us have been saying, its a player issue, certain players just dont want to ever have to manage their inventory

Even if this is a player issue for some I don't see why the thread is full of insults and not constructive feedback. I don't see what is so hard for people to discuss in a civil manner on things they disagree about, instead slinging insults and namecalling. Is it really necesarry to be so egocentric towards one other?

if you would take a few minutes to go back, almost all of the actual insults, were giving by the OP himself....(til he obviously rage quit cuz only 1 person really agreed with him and was on topic)

I have read since the beginning of the thread, and I never called out one person. I did say both sides were doing the same thing even if one started it. IMO doesn't matter what side it came from first, should be able to ignore trollish things and move on instead of having to reply back in the same manner.(This is not meant in an insulting way!)

I blame SE for my troll posts this morning. I was mad the patch notes were late. But in general, I post the way I do because it garners a response. People need thicker skin if they feel insulted.

I try to respect someone even if they don't respect themselves or me, or at least act like it. Even if I disagree, I try to empathize or relate to the other person. Listening/reading and responding intelligently, seriously, and beneficially.

The OP clearly didn't want feedback from the community and wanted a direct answer from a Rep. We all make mistakes, however instead of learning from that mistake or researching the loot system he made a thread telling SE to respond and fix something that isn't an issue, it was human error. Sadly many ppl are quick to post a complaint rather than research the many sites with guides, forum search, and patch notes.

After defeating a Final Dungeon Boss your party has time to /random, pass/take gear from loot lists and clear inventory space before exiting or being kicked. If I recall it's 3 minutes.

OBVIOUSLY you need a plugin for this to be possible.....lol. Loot list may not be perfect (interface lag) but it's the same system that's being requested, I just find it sad, as you said, instead of accounting for their own mistakes, they'd demand a fix for what isn't broken.

You have ample time to get your inv together. Toss the raw meat, toss the thanalan tea leaves...get your gear.

Easy fix would be a message to let you no that item is in loot list and if you further proceed you will loose and then make you double confirm that with a red background like for warning with the chance of high risk of failure when adding double slot materia
