You're not being forced in a literal sense but considering there's a pretty huge portion of the player population with the i500 relic who now have to do Bozja for the next step or abandon it altogether, I'd say forced isn't inaccurate
Bozja has been a bit of a mixed bag for me. I've enjoyed a lot of it, but I burn out on it easily and mainly go through it for the story. But one thing that I think has left me with an overall positive experience is I've pretty much always gone in with my FC mates, and that's always a blast. I think a lot of Bozja really shines if you can get a group to do it with, cos it's just fun to shred through CEs and cheer each other on for duels. More people also means higher chance for drops and stuff too!
I do wonder if they could make something a little easier for people to get into the 24-man raids at the end tho, cos I've deffo been in a situation where it's popped and I wanted to run it but no one was signing up.
Exactly, in Eureka no one was blocked from train station to do fates, in here welp, if You start now, You gonna be blocked by invisible wall, because SE logic
And some fates die in secounds, and other fates goes for 10 min, is bad to do fate for so long for so little
There is one FATE near Lunya stand/outpost, which gets cleared by NPC's. Meaning, you gonna miss that one most of your time. Meanwhile other FATE's take super long to complete. I found the gather/turn in FATE's most pleasant. They're just right.
But yes, Bozja is indeed unbalanced and needs some fix, lol
Gill (Digital In-game Currency) or $$$ (Real Money)
Cause unless its a Cash Shop item, you didn't pay anything for it. Your Money bought you a code that allows you to play the game and the expansions. You didnt pay for the in-game items. Unless its from the Cash Shop
Added to this, the new raid is painfully under rewarding
I would assume their point is entirely about the mogstation. If you buy an outfit from there you're always paying the full price for it, doesn't matter if you're a midlander, roegadyn, highlander, miqo'te, elezen, lalafell or au ra who can wear everything or if you're a viera who can use neither the hairstyles nor the hats.
Sure, you'll always have the complete outfit including the hat and hair, but people who only play and only want to play hrothgar/viera are paying full price for an outfit that includes completely useless items for them and does nothing but collect dust.
All of that ?
I guess I will pass on this step then.
Like some said, the relic should be easier in Bozja.
And to be honest, I am already rank 15, so doing CE is not worth it (especially if it's not 100% drop rate).
And 15 Delubrum...euh I have already did this 3 times, but 15 times is litteraly too much for what it gives aside.
I haven't seen anyone else post it yet, but i can confirm that you can get the "Loathsome Memory of the Dying" (the memory from the first of the 3 new steps) by clearing Castrum Lacus Litore as well, so it doesn't have to be Critical Engagements. As far as i can tell, it has been a 100% drop for me after clearing the Castrum. So, for the first step, you have the CT Raids (100% drop rate), Bozjan Front Critical Engagements (CE's) (low drop rate) and the Castrum Lacus Litore (CLL) (100%? drop rate).
Well, i can't confirm about the other steps just yet. I'm only at 6/15 of the first step atm. Didn't really have the time to go all out on farming those. But, i'll keep an eye out for other sources for the memories. I hope that you can get both memories of the first and second step, as long as you have the quest for it.
So far it was a nightmare to grind the q items. Im at 11/36 on second step and already want to puke. Its that bad.
I'm about the same. I haven't actually done it for two days now. I have been doing the new raid several times every so often though, hoping to get some of the drops. It's really not efficient of me to do this at all. The HW/SB grind is just so BORING, and I actually fall asleep at my desk when I do it.. Plus the WHM weapon isn't really my cup of tea, so...
I'm still going to prefer bozja over eureka. I lost all interest in eureka the moment I discovered 'the train (tm)' and the absolutely painful pace of grinding without it or some buddies to play with. Didn't help that BOTH the artifact gear AND the relic were locked behind eureka's asanine design. Is bozja good? no. Is it better than eureka IMO? by a mile.
I havent wanted to kill myself this much in quite awhile tbh
A wall that gets eliminated pretty quickly with a minor grind. I’d much rather have that temporary wall then the constant threat of death and having to walk all the way back if I do die because I don’t have the nearby aetheryte unlocked yet.
Yeah, I agree with Eara.
The wall vanishes pretty quickly. You can catch up to your friend with a higher Bozja level pretty quick.
Far quicker than it takes to unlock new islands in Eureka, let alone grinding uo your eLV and being able to feel like you actually have access to all of the new island and that your friend is actually there and not on the next one.
I went to Bozja earlier this week with some friends, most of whom were looking to do the big event thing (I still know nothing about this zone, and after this I basically don't want to learn about it anymore). Well, when the big event popped, everyone who could join it did so, leaving me and one other person in the group to the other in-zone activities. It sucked, it was the least fun I have ever had with this game since I started playing it. And they were away doing the apparently super fun and rewarding thing for a long enough time that I decided I'd had enough for the night.
The next day, I hopped in on my own, hoping to run fates and finish the grind, but most people in multiple instances were doing the high level content. The only group I did find was just a pair of DPS who were looking to advance past level 10, and they kicked me from their party without warning.
Not a really great impression of this place at the moment.
It's amazing to me how the FFXIV developers made this new content for relic (Bozja).
And then proceeded to make the most efficient way to obtain said relic OUTSIDE the brand new content they designed. Content that is 5-6 years old at this point or more.
Who signed off on that terrible decision? Who actually thought that was a good idea?
They apparently though the new armour was enough of an incentive to run Castrum, and that because you were getting coins as well as a chance at memories, because you're getting all of the different types of reward from Bozja, than none of them on their own had to be the most efficient method.
100% chance of X outside of Bozja, versus 50% chance of X and 50% chance of Y inside Bozja.
Good news is they did the final stage of the current relic right, Delubrum Reginae is probably the most reliable and quickest way to get the timeworn artifacts, and the act of running it multiple times requires you to go back into Bozja to regain mettle and lost actions. Plus there should be a hotfix to increase the rewards from Castrum sometime soon.
Definitely faster to do Delubrum rather than PoTD(at least if you go solo...) I tried that method, and got 1 of the artifacts going from 51-100, but the time between floor sets took much too long. At one point I waited almost 30min to get into there, I think the shortest wait was 5min, with the average being 15...at peak times too. And you only have a chance of them, which is probably the usual 5-10% chance of getting one. Sure, you could get lucky and get one every floor...but how many horseshoes do you have to be sitting on for that to happen?
As for Castrum...definitely looking forward to what they do in the hotfix Monday night. I just wish that some of the actions(particularly the essence of the skirmisher) would drop more often from the fragments. In 85 fragments, I got 8 of them...guess I won't be going as my main through there much more, but rather as a tank/healer.
Im really annoyed how badly they designed castrum. Its super unfun doing that raid with less than 24 ppl and still not being synced down to the actual participants. Bosses have the same HP, the adds that spawn are at maximum appearance. The AoE's that appear are still strong as heck. Im looking forward to that hotfix too but, seriously. It took them how many expansions now to figure out such content? Diadem? Eureka? Baldesion?
Judging from the Live Letter, SE is well aware that the number of people with i500 relics who have 0 mettle is *huge*; as well as the number of people who never completed Castrum Lucus Litore.
It looks like they're going to stick to their guns for the rest of Shadowbringers and keep the relic bound up with Bozja, as well as have no other content to release for 5.55.
But hopefully they have learned for Endwalker.
Don't tie the relic to this nonsense! Don't spend so many development resources on this nonsense! Don't make this nonsense the only content for months on either side! Don't tie major bits of story to this nonsense! Seriously consider never making one of these again!
I'm still going to say original Diadem was worse than Bazja. At least people are complaining about Bazja, no one even talked much about original Diadem.
They really dropped the ball with savage Delubrum because there's even less reason to repeat it after a clear then there is Castrum.
Unless you actually care about getting the augmented law's order armor, there's virtually no reason to go back in there.
Even the Baldesion Arsenal comparatively had more reason to go back because the elemental bonus on the upgrades from there was much more potent then the tiny haste buff the Bozja upgrades offer.
I rarely see groups forming for it, either. And when a group is recruiting no one really joins. If more people were active I might consider giving it a go. But as things currently stand...hard pass. On the plus side, potential Castrum fixes are possibly on the way, so hopefully I'll have more of a reason to run that.
