Korean Exclusive Dress from 2017... when?

This set of outfits was released in China in 2019 for a limited time (Event apparently). Now is being re-released currently(2023). Originally for the Korean version. Why haven't we gotten it?

Are they kidding me right now…….China can get it twice but we can’t? How do they even defend this anymore given their lousy defence so far was “exclusivity”?

Yep, so far Korean servers have 2 exclusive minions. China has an exclusive mount. The minions for the Korean servers are the Ghost (Tonberry) and the Green Naver (Korean Search Engine) ones and the Chinese Servers have the reskinned Behemoth. Which I've just basically given up on...but I feel if the Korean and Chinese servers have these outfits...we should be granted the same? Why are only these outfits being held back?

I'm pretty sure they are in the game files, I have seen modders swap another dress for this one. I have always wanted them to release it here I just love its looks. There's no reason to have mogstation items region locked.

Ehhh, I can understand the Naver minion, Naver isn't our search engine here. It'd be like having a Google minion in the global version, it'd be weird. The other two, I wouldn't mind.

I mean, if whoever made the items isn't a part of SE and have their own terms for distribution, they kinda can't do much about that. It might have been set to only be distributed to Korea and China. I've seen random comments upon doing research that the dress specifically might not have been modelled by Square themselves. I'm not sure about the minion though.

I would say that is the case. Both the Chinese and Korean versions of the game are published by different companies, and not by SE. As well as their cash shops, so I woukd imagine there is something in the contracts that keep some items exclusive to those two regions.

All items for FFXIV, including Korean and Chinese versions are made in house and distributed to their prospective areas. The Naver minion I totally agree with, it's not for us and never has been. It's their search engine. Never really cared, but found it interesting.

As I've spoken with a good chunk of friends who play on these servers/areas, including people behind the scenes. They've been very helpful on giving the insight on how this all works. They get a FanFest. Yoshi-P and devs do visit. The only thing they've stated that they found different was the payment systems (How to pay to play the game) and how some things are graphically different due to laws. They have the Gold Saucer and all the mini-games. They are a few patches behind (I think 2 at most on the current system). They do have the ability to buy the Merch Promo code items (Primogs, etc) and the Legacy Goobbue and Chocobo. As well as a few other minor things of that nature. Due to the game not existing for them during those periods when those items were available (1.0).

The Chinese reskin of the Behemoth has been around since I believe the game released there. That's been their exclusive.

The Tonberry minion is based on the New Years Tradition in Korea on glowing ghosts who would steal shoes if left out and grant bad luck for the rest of the year. (If you look at the Tonberry close enough he has a shoe, not a knife)

These I find as regional exclusives, but I also know many friends who play this game, who follow these traditions and cultures and would love to have them included for their own enjoyment. Just like we have the Taoist Moogle, Magpie and Panda bear Minions. Once deemed regional, now available to all.

That all being said, we would like the outfits because the other previous ones before these released and after have all been available to us. These have not..and now being re-released to another region while again, we've been forgotten.

Been over year since it's been mentioned? Yeah, it is. Just like the Orchestrion rolls that were in the game since Stormblood and finally allowed us to get them in Endwalker after many people asked repeatedly over the years. Keep reminding them that there are assets they made and we'd like them. Why is this such a problem? Better then making a new thread every year to ask. Thread was made in 2020, was brought up in 2021, 2022 and 2023. Why not reuse it? Same ask, same wondering. Why make a new one?

I know the Chinese and Korean outfits are released sporadically, but this one has been out for a while and seems to just be ignored - but I may have missed some information relating to it and whether or not it will ever actually be available in our versions of the game.

I am so desperate for this outfit, but don't think I've ever really seen it spoken about. Are there other Korean/Chinese exclusives from so long ago that we are still waiting for?

I think that's a different set. There's like three that have that hat.

I don't get why they region lock Mogstation items and not have them released for all regions. If they did, wouldn't they make more money off of them. I remember watching a video and there in the NA outfits coding but never released.

Someone else already answered this: Korea and China exclusives are not created by SE, they're created by the localization companies that run those versions of the game. When the intl version of the game gets those items, it's because SE bought the code from these companies.

Not true, SE makes ALL items IN house and are sent to each region as needed. Each Region gets an exclusive for a time, then it's switched between each one. Like for example we got the Crescent Moon Mount first, while Korea got the Magitek Outfit Glam, China was given something else in their mogstation mall.

I have sources because I got very curious as to what was really happening. Friends in China and Korea one of which works for the company who deals with SE stated all items are made by SE and brought into their coding. The companies decide when to launch said items to the public and how. Be it Mall (Mogstation), Quest or Event. Years back they were also giving tours in one of the departments which showed the assets for a region exclusive. SE also does Fanfest for them and Yoshi-P visits same with some team members. Also this Chinese Fanfest is when they announced the Mobile Version which we only heard about recently. Korea's Fanfast got an Artist Glam which is already in the files for us.

Really wish these stupid rumors would go away

I'm really sorry for the necroposting. But now that the names of the Chinese and Korean outfits have been changed/standardized, it would be a good time to add the ONLY missing outfits.
I'm sure a lot of people are still waiting for them (including me)

Already watched videos from modders showing it's in the NA game files and just not unlocked to be used.

Yes please Square, gimme those shoes at the very least.
