Why is glamour shaming still such a huge problem in FF14? Let's fix it in 2020.

I use a vierra so in my opinion if you don't go for sexy glamours for that race your going about it wrong lol. Most of my glamour go for the sexy look ive been hit on so many times I just find it funny; been asked to model to for one guy and make some extra gil because of it so its all good. Its a game as long as you like whatever glamour you have who cares what other people think as long as your having fun.

I've had it happen to me while in a dungeon. Some people really hate Elezens. Called me a "giraffe wearing skimpy outfits". But it's easy to blacklist them quickly so I don't know why the OP doesn't just do that.

I'd rather be insulted than have some random try super hard to get me into their discord, which happens disturbingly often.

It's especially awkward since I'm just a g.i.r.l. who prefers the constant company of an avatar that is nice on the eyes.

Tell: "Nice glam!"
Sends friend request
Tell: "wanna talk in my discord?"

The higher quality and quantity of "promiscuous" looking avatars is one of the main reasons to play this game over WoW.

Knowing it's some sweaty guy at the keyboard 99% of the time is unsettling, though.

Glamour shaming is apparently still a thing in 2021. It's funny when it comes from bikini catgirls who are barely wearing more than me. The irony seems to be lost on them.

got a hate"tell"from some random player about my bard adventurer plate (catgirl in a bikini top and blue lightning hair)
could not respond to said player because"player is in restricted area")are they a troll?
i swapped the portraits in my adventurer plates to show my main jobs in the shisui sets
including the aetherial purple background
sounds to me its a small minority of players who also hate revealing tmogs in WoW
who prefer criticising players who wear such outfits over keeping quiet i dont know

long post said player was put on the ignore list as soon as they wrote the tell
he didnt get me angry just confused

I never played that other game, but someone I know did and told me about that there. I've never ever encountered it on FFXIV, actually I haven't met a single nasty person if I'm honest.

I'm on balmung and spend 50% of my in game time semi afk in the Quicksand and have never seen this.

Though, maybe the Quicksands breeds more acceptance?

to me its kind of the ffxiv version of bloodscale plate/mageweave cloth(who plays both WoW and FFXIV probably knows these sets)
except that said combo i use for glam can be used on any job
i think its because those who think otherwise might have seen some edited images lol

most would not or care not to bash glams but there are a few exceptions
i blacklisted them
with my fc(guild) i can level and play healer/tank for roulettes while a dps main

It looks like it was just an assumption. The thread was made around January of 2020, so some players are commenting that it got necro-ed a few times. At the same time, is the issue still relevant?

I am also a bit confused since I haven't really noticed any glamor shaming where I am in Ultros. If anything, I instead get a few compliments on how my Hrothgar looks ... with some playful banter of, "Square. Gimme my hats, dang it!" lol

Envious of what could they be exactly?
It doesn’t take more than room temperature IQ to put together a bikini top with 2B bottoms, nor does it take any special skills to farm said glamour.

I play since years and not once did people comment on my bikini glams in any negative fashion, stop focusing on one “envious” person and continue to enjoy your game and glams, if youre not titanman.
