Who else is race changing?

I won't be race changing any of my characters, but I will be making a Viera alt!

I’m going to try viera. I’m going to try being a tall character for a change. They still look really feminine so it appeals to me. But knowing me I’m going to switch back to miqo’te... or try lalafell first.

As soon as they make male viera a thing, I'm so changing my alt to viera. He was a viera on an FF RP forum long before they decided to make viera a thing on FFXIV, so like... :D /prays to the overworked, understaffed FFXIV gods

From what I seen the proportions seem about the same. Same tiny head ontop of to long and big shoulders. I really wish their heads were abit bigger. It just doesn't look as bad cause they have a mountain of hair. But take that away and boom.. tiny head T.T So with that out the way I'm staying a miqo'te.

I don't like the too rich for you emotes Viera have and perfer the anime teen protag emotes miqo'te have. Plus I like my leo tail. >.> Not saying Viera are bad for those who like them... but eh... they animate too boring for me. Miqo'te stole my soul.

I'll be going Viera soon as the 28th gets here. Though i may make my current character into one of my retainers so i'll always have her near :D

I Just cant decide between to vary similar customization's im currently stuck on :D

I'm too attached and would never even think about changing. I can't even keep the same names on retainers when I've used a fantasia on them. But bunny girl senpai is too good to pass up, so an alt character has been green lighted :)

I have thought about it a bunch but I don't think I will be changing. Their emotes and look are so unique that is goes beyond what I currently imagine for Jenity. I will more than likely create a Hrothgar and a Viera alt to have the experience.

I race change about once a month (and boy is it cheaper to do that here than Warcraft!)

I generally rotate between midlander, kitty, and highlander depending on my mood. But I've occassionally went lalafell. And I absolutely look forward to slotting bunny into my rotation!

After switching to Hyur for a short while, I vowed to never switch from Mi'qote again (At least not my main). But from playing around with the Viera settings in the Benchmark, I am now very tempted.

Bunny waifus are nice and all, but Kitty waifus are better!

I'm playing through the 5.0 story with my Miqo'te, and will probably fantasia to Hrothgar temporarily. Maybe I'll make a Hrothgar alt eventually.

As cool as they are, and as much as I've wanted FF to get a genuinely bestial beast race, I've had my Miqo since I started playing more than two years ago. It's been a long time since he got off that wagon in Ul'dah. He's seen and done a lot, and it doesn't feel right to replace him because something new came along.

I'll change a character to viera if we get males, but I'm kind of attached to my main character in his form as a catboy.

I was a Lala boy in ARR, an Au'ra lady in HW, and a catboi in SB... bunny girl seems like a logical next step.

I was hoping to swtich between Viera Male and Female every few months, gotta say I'm growing more in love with the Viera :D

Nah I won't, it kinda breaks my immersion to change race and or gender on a character. But I'll make an alt Viera later once the new race hype dies down a bit.

I have two alts I plan to change to Viera and Hrothgar. The races are nice, but not enough for me to change from lalafell.

I was looking forward to changing to Viera, but after the benchmark I sort of reconsidered. I really like the Viera mannerisms and animations, but I don't like how the heavy armor looked on them. Somehow the proportions seemed wrong? Like the armor wasn't really fitting on the body type, making it look like it was a size too big for them (which now that I think about is also an occasional issue with my Au Ra)?

Anyways, I'll reserve judgment until release.

I like my Au Ra the way she is, so I can't and won't change her anymore.
Also, Viera are just too tall for my personal tastes. I'm a small female irl (just barely taller than my almost min height Au Ra), maybe that's why? Don't know, I just personally find that small women look prettier than tall women... I know it's weird.
But other than that the Viera look really nice, so I'll probably at least temporary change one of my retainers to a Viera. They just have so few hairstyle options that I like.

Hrothgar aren't really my thing. They look cool and all, but I'm sure I won't use them at all. I really like kemonomimi but I'm not a fan of furry. But I'm still looking forward to the nice Hrothgars others create. ^^

Undecided. I like tall women, but Highlander emotes aren't my taste, and Roes and Elezen have weird proportions, so I'm tempted. But I'm also attached to Iyami as she is.

If New Game+ does keep the free fantasia from completing the Praetorium quest, I'll try it out and decide then. Otherwise I'll probably keep waffling and never actually do it.

I think that's a feature of heavy armor and not Viera, because I have the same problem as a female Roegadyn. Hopefully we get more form fitting armor in the future, the kind that hugs the body instead of hovering around it.

Its possible. I am guessing that the heavier looking armors aren't fitted perfectly on the more lean (scrawny) pc models? It practically poked me in the eye when I was using the Bonewicca striking gloves as a miqote and then fantasiad into an aura. It was a relatively decent fit as a miqo, but when I put them on afterwards it seemed large, clumsy and 2 sizes larger than the arm. Never used it since.

Still, I guess it's on a case-by-case basis, as some other plate looking armors are fine?

Anyways, guess we'll see when ShB releases. Gonna make an alt and try on stuff before chugging a fantasia for sure though.

I don't think i'll change my main race now. Vierra are nice but this lack of ear animation kills all the mood for me.

I dont plan to change at launch, but I may change into Viera sometime after I have beat main story. Wont be changing into a Hrothgar however. My character just wont do it as one.

But I might make a Hrothgar alt. And I am thinking of changing one of my current alts into a Viera for a little while. None will be permanent Viera at this moment.

Viera are meh in my opinion and this is why:

no ears animation :/ it's the same as using the ears from the gold saucer
the emotes lack emotion (and the ears do nothing lol)
can't be short
no tail

I shouldnt. But if I’m going to disobey myself, I might wait to change I dont know. I don’t usually like seeing mirrors everywhere and it seems like everyone is going Viera.

Ugh, yeah I've noticed the same thing with my female Roe alt. I knew things weren't sitting right but never got around to actually comparing screenshots like that.

I can only guess that it's something to do with the angle their hips are modelled at. All skirts seem to stick forward in the same way, and it makes it hard to find things that look nice.

On topic, I'm never going to transform my existing characters; I'd create an alt instead - though I'm probably not going to do that any time soon either because I've got enough characters 'on the go' already, and I've already got a concept character waiting for when I want to replay the story.

Will certainly play around with the new races to see if there's a design I like more, but I'm not really excited by either of them. Hrothgar look better than I thought they would, though.

The no tail was 'kind' of a bummer for me.. but then on thinking it a bit more... wouldnt it just be covered up by most clothing anyway? I mean.. rabbits dont have 'long' tails to begin with, even if they had a cut-out in the armor for it to stick out from, it'd just be a small bump.

Ears not animating are a 'bit' of a let-down. But Miqo'te ears dont animate either do they? only their tail does.

As for the Animations... we only get to see 5 animations in the Character creation screen.. (at least i havnt seen any pre-release videos showcasing any of the other animations). We'll have to wait and see how the others look :)

You want a tail? Get the bunny outfit from Gold Saucer because that's the only way a Viera will have one.

Anyways on topic - I've been wanting a change of pace for awhile, and Shadowbringers lore with the WoL becoming the WoD and so on is prompting me to finally let Katt retire. While I would've loved to be a female Hrothgar, I'm fine with going Viera instead as their lore fits pretty well to another character of mine. In any game with a char creation, I recreate characters from stories I've written. Katt was one of them and when Shadowbringers hits, Jeduh will take her place.

Im not mad they have no tails :) would have just been neat if they did. But as i said.. even if they did... they'd just get covered up by even the t-shirts for armor we have at times.

No tail means one less thing to clip.
