Honestly this was a lot faster than the last time. It took them nearly a three days. I remember the cue being something like... 12,273 or something when it started to go down. I was expecting a few more hours.

Thats basically the point. It creates potential backlash by the users for not being able to use the service. It is odd that its a ddos attack on the same day that SE released/updated the Shadow Bringers site with lore on Viera and Hrothgar allowing them to exclude male/female versions of those races.

Typically that's the point. Just look at day one Archeage Revelations. You would have 3000 hour Q time (Even with a subscription) only to be dc every 10 seconds. It pretty much killed the fresh start servers by being so irritating that people just quit.

The websites are on a different system to the game servers, there isn't an relation there. :) Except perhaps salt.

same reason some people kick cats. theyre usually abused at home, or bullied at school. so they pay it forward due to being jaded or whatnot. Kids will be kids. Or just scum. Combination of the aforementioned most likely.

Having no luck here connecting to Aether Datacenter. I usually play on Faerie server. Guess the attack is still going on.

Same problems Goblin server Aether data centre np with Japanese data centres but both US are by the looks of it being DDOS'D.

That's a bummer. Was hoping to jump on for a while via Coeurl unfortunately got hit with 5006. Best of luck and hopes in getting them fixed from the attacks that was mentioned earlier

I got into Goblin 10 minutes ago, and I'm still connected. Zoned a few times, to see if I'd get booted.

I was able to finally log in on one character, and did a trial. Afterwards I logged off to hop on an alt. It took me a few tries to get in, but I finally did.

After playing a few minutes on the alt, I dc'ed, and haven't been able to log in since. I can get to the character selection screen now, but every time I try, it goes to the loading screen, and then pops me back out with a 'world is currently full' queue - which is fine, of course, I'm used to those - then pops back into loading, and just a few seconds later I'm again popped out, but this time with a 90002 error, 'connection with server lost'. Then back to title screen to try again.

I'm having this same issue, except I'm able to log in to my alt just fine.

Kept getting the error earlier so quit trying for a while. Just tried again and got in successfully.

Tried late in the evening, after trying a bunch a couple hours earlier. I can get into the character select, but can't get on the world. Guess I'll just play tomorrow :/
