I find it funny that everyone seems to hate Besaid for being the so-called "RP server". Having played on Besaid since the game opened, I've hardly even seen any RPing, because people tend to keep it to themselves.

LoL Same here. I can count the number of times I have dealt with RPers on one hand, and that's having played on Beseid from the beginning. The people whining about those horrible RPers had to have either sought such people out, or are simply fabricating things to make themselves out to be poor wittle martyrs.

It's because most RPers tend to be mature adults. That's the reason our server is so much better than these other servers, just browse through this thread and look at what server all these trolls are from, very few from Besaid.

You can look all over this forum and see that the most interesting posts and people are from Besaid. Our server has character, theirs has trash and they are angry about it.

Just look at these childish tags.

Now now, there's no reason to go and call them peasants (And this coming from a guy with a crown on his persona). Sure there's a few rotten apples here and there who like to make a lot of noise, but there's plenty of mature people on other servers as well. Makes me kinda wish server transfers would be fast and free, so I can meet all those other people too.

That is a quote of the Night's Watch oath from the book series A Song of Ice and Fire, or TV show Game of Thrones if you don't read.

Role Players don't usually RP books, TV shows or movies, they tend to stick to the lore of the game they're RPing in which adds depth and immersion to the game for themselves and those around them, which is the reason I always play on RP servers in MMO's even though I don't RP. I love watching the stories people come up with.

I think this thread only illustrates that it would be beneficial to the RP community to have an officially suggested server so the haters know where not to play.

and thats fine, as long as its done like server 10/eu server is right now

so that no one is forced to be on the server with RPists should they not transfer off in time


it should be done so that only those who want to go there would have to, and not "anyone who doesnt want to be there should transfer off"

of course, this will lead to several population issues as im sure the EU server is about to see shortly too, but probly worse, but thats the price you pay for special treatment

Forced to move? Not really, why would they need to when they already are all mostly on the same server. It may have started as "unofficial" but once server mergers happen, it will be the official RP server whether people like it or not. If you don't like RP fine, then don't participate in it, its that simple.

the term official means SE recognizes it, and labels it

players CAN NOT make it official, thats what we call unofficial, and its called that for a reason, and thats fine, it can be the unnofficial server

One thing I dont like about new-age RPers is they like to dress up their "creation" with as many tropes and stereotypes as usual.

What you may think is a "deep" or "emotional" character (my favorite overused one is the pitiable "I'm a half breed, and my parents were killed/hated/exiled/sucked/YOULLNEVERUNDERSTANDMYSORROW/etc) tends to come out looking like this...

Make a character that is believable, yet unique...piling features upon features doesnt make your Original the Character (do not steal!) any better than the rest. Once upon a time, I used to RP...but the new-generation RP'tards convinced me that the era of good creations was over.
