In the patch note they said we would be able to use as many subs as Airships. SO are are you saying we can't register more than 2 ?

EDIT>@ALien_Gamer So, atm the max lvl rank is 20 ? An all areas that can be discovered have already been discovered, meaning we have no "rank 30" and "rank 40" areas that could unlock submarine 3 and 4 ? Is that what you mean ?

At this point we can only register 2 subs. Future patches will release higher tier prototypes, more sectors and the ability to unlock more subs similar to how they did airships. When its all done you'll have 4 airships and 4 subs but you'll only be able to send 4 ships total (of any combination of subs and airships) on missions.

I'm not thrilled about this limitation. I can make a guess that the subs will have the same or better drops than the airships, but we've all worked our tails off getting those airships up and running with optimal builds, just to sit docked now.

You would have to have unlocked it somewhere, it doesn't automatically unlock at 20 if you haven't found it yet. If you went back to check the log at a later time, discovery info is no longer listed though as I found out from one voyage.

The log from the last run is available until the submarine makes its way back again (View previous voyage log) so you should be able to peruse the info again.

Wouldn't necessarily say subs will find better things, just different. Will still probably get future updates to the items that an airship can find, and we choose what to send on voyages based on needs. Restriction only limits how much stuff you can do simultaneously but the resources you worked on won't be going away. Can rotate between them if needed.

got a Salvaged Bracelet from Unidentified derelict https://xivdb.com/item/22501/salvaged+bracelet
anybody knows for what the Bracelet is for? it sells for 9k gil to an npc, not sellable on the marked, looks like a counterpart to clear demi and the allagan pieces, or a token for upcoming mounts?

It would say "Crafting Material" at the bottom of the Tooltip if this where true. Vendor it.

There have been other items that were not used on release for crafting, but were added to recipes later. They added the crafting material tag to them at that point. I would just keep the things unless you really need the space or gil.

Curious what everyone getting the minions/minion parts upgraded their ships to? Probably just bad rng so far as our ships seem to wait out a complete crash of the new item market before actually bringing us items of value back, but thus far haven't gotten anything good. Got some people eyeing new pets and we're getting back twigs... Not really enthused by the grade III materia being brought back either. I would have thought it'd start at tier 4 at least.

All we've gotten from the Unidentified Derelict so far are Platinum Ingots and Diamonds.

That's totally RNG it seems. Did you had 110 or more survey ?

@Dustytome was more for Chocolat actually, but np. I don't remember who, but someone said he got the polyp with 110 survey so i was wondering if that was a requirement to get it or if other peeps got it with less survey.

If it's like the airships that's all judged on the first or the last part of the trip if I recall and nothing else goes towards the ranking. I'd gladly take a C rank voyage with that turn-out though!
