IMO, people need to keep bringing this up to them and let them know it's not okay, or they will just put off fixing this while using the remaining account-wide codes on the big ticket items while hoping we will just buy multiples of the rest. I'm glad they say they're looking into it, but I also think that if there is such a limit, it didn't just materialize. SE and the FFXIV devs would have known about it for the last couple years if not longer, giving them plenty of time to have worked on it already.

why not? why does it matter to you whether they have one char or 40? other games have account wide things and single character things and minions/pets/companions are almost always under the "account wide" curtain. I mean outside of maybe milking a single customer 40 times for the same minion, dont see the reason for restricting it to a single character. the fact they dont have all the glamour items account wide sorta bother me as well. some are, but some arent.

a compromise would be, in my opinion, if you buy a single character cash shop item, allow it to then be bought from the achievement point vendor on other characters.

Out of all the bizarre decisions SE makes, this one really stands out. I don't buy merch but I wonder what kind of thought process went into this decision. It seems like a really bad move from a PR standpoint. Why can't people have a little minion for all their characters when they supported the company by buying something kind of pricey?

Just make mounts/pets and achievments cross account already... please...

As a single main character user, this change did not affect me (gameplay wise) as much as disgusted me with this new practice.
We purchase limited quantity physical items at exorbitant prices and in europe, most cases pay double total due to shipping costing as much as the item itself.
And yet we're treated with a digital code for a minion locked to a single character?

I skimmed through the many pages of the thread and saw that there is no GM / Community / Dev reply to this thread which also rubs salt the wound.
Is player satisfaction so at the bottom of their priority list they don't even reply to such obvious feedback? Damn, SE.

This doesn’t really affect me now, however, I think it’s a ridiculous decision by SE. Their recent attempts,to squeeze us is starting to be very troubling. I would def reconsider purchasing one of these items for these codes. For those that are purchasing this, SE really needs to reverse this decision, it just makes no sense, other than greed.

I agree this is really dumb, what do they expect you to do? buy multiple of the same product? And if they've made it account wide before with other promo items why not now? Super lame, lots of their decisions are super lame lately

But but its optional. Who cares. Now be a good customer and hand over all your money to SE.
And it's time to make all items sub based in the Mog Station. You will rent them per month in the future.
Or perhaps buy them with Moogle Coin from the awesome new app.

just bring the minion as a single item to the mogshop. i dont need/want useless merchendise.

This isn't the first thread that came up with this "single character" optional items, and the other ones never got an answer.
Why the point to do threads if they are not going to answer here? I've never seen any responses and that's a bit hopeless.

Although as many people noticed, since they made the single character change (to the music rolls and the minion), they've since released 3 new mounts on the Mog Station that are each account wide (2 Carbuncles and the panda). Despite that, going forward in-game codes are still apparently single character only. Hate to say it, but since they didn't let us buy those mounts for a single character only and charged a premium because they were account wide... it does suggest that the limitation isn't actually so much of an issue if people throw enough money at them.

Some threads do get responses from the community team and some have even had the lead GM or Yoshida himself reply (or at least someone translating into English and posting in his name), but yes you're right the vast majority of threads have no feedback at all from SE. I'd like to believe they're at least reading them, but without any feedback we don't even know that for sure. Obviously we can't expect them to reply on every thread, but their presence outside the JP forums is so minimal...

I don't want to derail this thread, but right now as most people have noticed there's a lot of activity with the mobile application/other currency/premium etc... but still nothing from SE. At least not in English. We haven't really even been told about it yet either, 4 days on from the live letter and not even an official translation.

I've stuck up for SE with a lot of things in the past, but they're really not making it easy.

The best way to fix this would be to make all clothing glamours, weapons, hairstyles and bardings character-specific and make all minions, mounts, rewards and orchestrion rolls account-wide. If they cannot do the latter, then let alts purchase those items with certificate points so long as at least one character has redeemed the code for the item. Like if I redeem the code for Yotsuyu on Character 1, allow character 2 to purchase the minion with achievement points.
