Housing salt

Even though I have a house and still feel SE should wipe clean the housing system and try something else... It really is total trash... Now with our current system they can add a balcony/garden to apts, maybe one another size variation to the apt, suite or something, and this can be the "personal housing." As for the actual housing wards, they should be FC exclusive and only 1 house per FC, maybe later on they can allow them to be privately owned (limiting it to 1 house per server with share allowed between your characters) but FCs should definitely have 1st dibs if when any new housing areas/wards open up. This is all I can really think of without doing any huge overhauls...

The way the housing was handled was awful and terrible and they should feel bad... they have done very little to improve the way housing works in the game and people still defending Square Enix and saying "you're not entitled to house" are not helping matters at all. If this many people are genuinely annoyed and feel cheated by the game then there is a genuine problem and these complaints should be taken seriously by Square Enix.

even Runescape has a more successful housing system than this. i don't really see how it can be much worse when most players cant even own a house. It took about 5 minutes for every plot to sell.

There were plenty of houses on Behemoth well past 2-3 minutes. I was the first (or second it was close) purchaser in my ward (as was my GF in her ward) and it was at least 10-15 minutes before everything filled up...the issue was the queue - if you didn't get in right way that was it. All these people talking about using Ninja or BRD/MCH blah blah blah - meant nothing. Lucky login + SSD was all you needed. The housing in the game is awesome but the the accessibility to the housing is beyond atrociously bad. Something NEEDS to be done.

No launcher issues here, signed in the second servers came up. Login queue for Leviathan was 1999. Got through the queue and........ all houses gone already. No upgrade for my fc. Though people are selling plots for crazy prices now.

I got smashed out of getting the medium house I was hoping to get due to the launcher taking ages to load, the launch button also taking ages to actually do anything and then by the time I got in the queue it booted me out and had to jump back in twice.

I'm thankful I was able to go for the backup small plot and even then I just narrowly beat someone else to it by a few seconds so I feel awful for cheating them out of it, its so damn disappointing this current system. I feel absolutely awful because my boyfriend would have loved to for us to get a medium house but now I feel like a complete failure even though it was all beyond my control :/. I feel for everyone who got cheated out of a house today due to pretty much all issues present, SE seriously needs to fix this and bring in instanced housing for everyone. They've long since run out of viable excuses as to why they can't do it.

Looks like it's never gonna happen when the supply/demand ratios are completely off.
On the bright side, at least I won't be chained by the 45 days once that's back up I guess.

Tbh, I did expect something like this to happen, but wasn't planning on getting a house in shirogane anyways.

I wasn't planning on getting a Shirogane house, I expected to see plots all over the old wards to free up for me to snap up. I LIKE the Goblet, but NONE did, the demand for homes is too high.

So, now I'm waffling between taking my apartment to a new ward with actual neighnors or keeping my roots.

It’s not. It’s exactly what I did. It was 3AM. I wasn’t going to make decisions on the house at that hour. I could barely keep my eyes open. I woke up in the middle of the night on Black Tuesday only to buy the thing. I’ll wrap it in the morning.

This morning, before work, I chose the estate, put in the chocobo stable, aetheryte and garden. Got some of the basics going.

They should just add Sudoku puzzle to all Placard.

What's really odd is that the release of Shirogane was delayed until patch 4.1 for it to basically be an event where you woke up at 3 AM, prayed the queue was kind to you, wish misfortune upon others (i.e. getting stuck in longer queues, forgetting their gil, etc.), and bum-rush housing plot after housing plot in hopes of getting that placard before someone else. I'll admit, I participated in this grand event because people said it would be the only way to get a house in Shirogane. However, I didn't actually "believe" them when they said it was going to turn out the way it did. I thought they were exaggerating. Well, I was wrong. It happened just the way people said. The plots were gone within minutes. I still have a bad headache from it all. They might as well have just released it at the release of Stormblood and forced people to be level 70 to purchase. At least then it would have been a real race instead of this fiasco.
