4.1 and us healers

Err, someone mentioned Cleric Stance. I actually feel a bit gipt that it's gone. As a SCH, the thing that really made us shine, in my opinion, was our ability to mitigate damage, switch to Cleric, lay down DoTs, maybe some Ruin, the switch back. Rinse and repeat. Now that that isn't a thing, it feels as if SCH is kind of ``meh".

At the same time, Cleric Stance was the number one cause of death in parties, regardless of what role I was filling.

I can attest to Cleric stance being the #1 cause of death...because i've hit it and seen it toggle off, but am so focused i didn't realize it toggled right back on. The result: No MP, health failing and Healers crying "why?!" until that moment of realization that...Cleric stance has decided it wants to be on.

Cleric Stance was a blessing and a curse. You pop it on, only to discover somebody decided right then to get hit with something they didn't need to get hit by...so you had to pray they stayed up long enough for you to be able to turn it off since your healing was crap right then. There were just some moments where you decided to forsake Cleric Stance altogether because the party proved they couldn't be trusted when it came to this. Now, you pop it and you get a damage buff. Less risk, less reward...which sadly makes it feel lackluster at times.

Scholar is anything but clunky, it is the defined oGCD job of all three healers.

Surecast update helps a bit, so you don't have to stay still and can now cast for the duration in O4S. It's a welcome change.

Current cleric stance pretty much sucks, and it is quite expendable for something else. Fat-finger old one is minor detail at-best, you didn't do it enough to justify the fact it should have been tossed. Healer DPS is actually pretty boring in-general in SB due to to loss of DoTs and other options that were once available. If you do the main story on Astro, you'll know quickly how slow it is to do things, and even I was HW BiS going into SB. The Malefic 3 button will eventually give you blisters.

Like I have previously eluded the simplification of jobs hasn't really made a profound difference to the state of the healers in the game, the majority of healers out there still don't put up damage, or anything worth a mention. So basically damage was reeled-in, and the better players paid the price for it.

Personaly Im a bit pissed that everyones jobs is to deal DPS and its tje only thing thay differ good players from the bad ones. Good tanks arent the ones good at using their def move. Its the ones who can deal the most dmg while not forgeting to pop ded CD now and then.

Good healers arent the ones good at healings while concerving mana for when the shit hit the fan moment. They are the ones who can spend as little mana as possible on jealing so they can deal more damage.

This game is all about dmg. No mather if your a tank a healer or a support. Your chalenge is to deal damage.

As a healer, when i see a tank doing a big pull and then dumping out of tank stance, there can't be any arguments if I don't DPS as a healer. I follow the ABCs of Healing: "Always be casting" no matter what it is. if I've got the chance, I will. if i don't? well the tank doesn't know what a CD is, is undergeared or has pulled way too much. The Ire comes when they do big pull after Big Pull, i run OOM and then they blame me. I'm all for speed runs of stuff...but if you push too hard, there are always consequences.

It boils down to "playstyle". that's what is different in all of the game. each person plays a different way, uses GCDs and oGCDs in different ways. it's the spice of life. sometimes we don't like the spices we get in our "dishes" (aka dungeons, trials, etc) and sometimes it's an amazing blend. we deal with whatever we're given and that's that.

They should have folded Eye for Eye back into SCH kit, or make deployment tactics also cast Eye for Eye.
No other job has a job ability that utilizes a CROSS role skill.

Eh...

PLD, lv. 62 ability, Intervention.

SMN, lv. 70 ability, Wyrmwave.

Both are more relevant than deployed E4E. If memory serves, deployed E4E was only useful in a3s hand phase. It's always been very niche...to the point of being irrelevant in most content.

E4E was always a popular cross-class skill, however, so putting it in the role pool makes sense from that perspective. Deployment still works in that it can freely spread Adlo sheilds, so it's still a handy, if equally niched, skill.

I figure I'd put this resolved issue here since I noticed it in the full release 4.1 patch notes.
