First to post Kashuan numbers!
3:00 PM EST. By no means prime time for a japan or NA.
1-30 = 114
31-49 = 112
49-50 = 174
Population right now is exactly 400. I'll check again in 16-17 hours to see how it is closer to JP prime.
popped on Fabul again
11:18PM (EU/Paris timezone) - That's around NA peak time if I remember well.
400 players online a Saturday post patch is all but impressive.Quote:

Yes when I checked earlier this afternoon during JP Prime time there were over 600 people online. Check right now, I just double checked after reading your post, and it's at 405, slowly raising it seems. still even 600 or 700 post patch it's all but impressive, those servers are meant to run with over 2000 people on, not 400 or even 700 people. 300 people more or less is still a drop in the pound compared to other servers that have over 1k people on at any given time.
I don't think it's ridiculous. Here's why: This is a worldwide game, with 3 primetimes, one for North America, one for Europe, and one for Japan. That's why over the course of three 8 hour periods you see the 3 primetimes. Some people play for 12 hours, some people are on 24/7, and others only come online for a few mins. So I think it's reasonable to assume for estimation that the people staying on through two primetimes even out the ones that don't log on or pop in and pop out. So I think if you take the 3 primetimes and add them you have a very good estimate of the real population. And also I don't think it will deviate much more than 3 times of one of the primetimes.
lol
I would rather lag all day and be able to find an ifrit party, or an exp party, heck I would just like to find a party in general. I spent the last few days since the patch with my "Seeking party" up and I got a 2 hour party today. I have yet to actually find a party that wants to do the moogle nm's. There tend to be only like 4 people on at a time that want to do them at any given time. We can never get a full party. I've resigned myself to crafting/ farming mats w/ dol's lol.
That's because you are doing it wrong. The search feature is a waste of time. You need to go to where the ifrit and moogle is, be ready with a lvl 50 class and gear and ask for people there for parties. Go to uldah and shout, or get into a ls that isn't made of 4 people.
After 2 hours of shouting it isn't worth it anymore. After asking all of my linkshells "Who wants to do this? Or this?" The replies I get are "how full is your party?" People just don't bother anymore because there is an average of 100 En speakers on my server at anytime and I'm not in a linkshell with all 100 of them., not all of them are in Ul'dah, not all of them want to do what I want to do, some of them are even afk. I have my gear on me at all times if a party is happening, I use my linkshells, I camped the moogle nm's for an hour each and I either got "Oh our party is full" or was ignored by non english speakers. We dn't have people just go places and look for a party. In melmond if your ls isn't doing it your not gonna get a party. There are only really 2 active linkshells in Melmond. Those are Twenty Four Seven & the Forsaken. Want to know a fun fact as well? The leaders from both linkshells hate each other so the 2 linkshells do not party w/ wach others members. I'm so glad you were here to tell me what to do. Because I would of never known how to get a party otherwise. It is just very frustrating for those of us who have had many friends quit or don't play as much. Melmond is pretty much a static party server. If your not in the static don't expect to be in the static unless they're desperate for that 1 extra person. As for my static it quit about a month ago and I'm the only one left.
how many are mules since most have there free pass? new patch is when they are probably most needed for porting around too. then subtract rmt if any left in game. then take how many that will disappear on the 6th and you'll probably be left with 400tops when real mmo's usually have what 1-3k pop on every server? and that is probably one of the higher end pop servers to boot. horrid ..lol i think dunes had a pop of over 100people easily everyday ..nite and day in ffxi and that not counting the majority of the population in game just the first zone to go and exp.

@Weeble I don't think the troll understands logic. Because her server is active it's not her problem if others aren't.
I still never found an exp party in this game. There isn't anything in my level range. Today I saw 4 gladiators and 1 great ax user seeking. So I can only solo mobs for 80 exp a kill in leves. Most people seem to just be afk in towns doing nothing all day.
how are you figuring this out when the search only goes up to 200???

1350 online.
Boy, are there a lot of Immortal Flames members! I ended up having to narrow the 50's with that company down by job in order to get a count!
This morning at 3 AM in my time zone, there were 541 people online on Besaid. This is probably the highest population time, because in America at that time it is 6-9 PM depending on which time zone you live in, which is when the majority of Americans are online (and the game's population is a majority NA players).
Besaid is one of the higher population servers, too... It's mostly an english speaking server, with the japanese side being a big minority. This means not that many people are on during JP prime time. When I checked the JP prime time, i got about 380 people and i imagine at least 1/3rd of those were NA players who left the game running while they slept.
I logged back in for the second time in 3 months yesterday just so I could check out the search functions and such. I left my character in game for right at 20 hours straight, checked population for Lindblum every hour or 2 Server population never got over 700 and there was never a point where there were more than 200 En players on at once.
I dont know f this is bad or good compared to the other servers.
