I was really worried about the boots from the concept art but now that I see them in-game they work nicely.

I don't like the skirt, but the jacket is really nice up close. I traded out the leg gear for best man's slacks and the Yuna boots. Hard to tell I'm a lady Elezen like this but it looks good and that's what counts. :P

Cotton half-gloves, I stick to cloth glamour gloves so I need less leather glamour prisms.

The pants suits your character very well, I think its because of the long legs. I do like the outfit on my character (manqote, dont why know why forum avatar is a Lalafell again), just wish the headwear was not monocle.

I can't see myself wearing it with a combat class personally.

Gathering or crafting, definitely.

I've dyed it a mixture of Kobold Brown and Loam Brown.

Feels more me, also added in the militia ringband gloves.

I like how Tataru makes everyone else an epic looking outfit and we get a school uniform.

Someone needs to take away her weaver equipment.

Also am I the only one that looks at the gear and thinks it doens't fit into the FFXIV aesthetic anywhere? It literally has no place in any of the known regions of Hydaelyn in my opinion.

I'm not saying it looks bad, I'm saying it looks bad for this game. Super disappointed here.

For the life of me I don't know why the pants are listed under weaver... I wish SE were a little more consistent because they're definitely leather in appearance. I can't help these little details bother me :L

Um did you not see the Scripture Shire gear? lol Plus it fits Alphinauds and Ailisaes outfit styles well seeing as how we were constantly asking since 2.0 for their outfits and never got something near it, guessing this is suppose to be our tribute to it, plus "School style outfits have been in previous ff games and Sharlyman does indeed show this outfit its also supported doing the 59 dungeon.

Sorry.. but no they are not that similar to me. See previous posts comparing the 4 outfits a few pages back. One of these things does not look like the other.

They're similar in muted colors and the lines of the outfits but thats it.

The shire gear does not look like school uniforms at all. They look "Scholarly" yes but not like childish school uniforms. This outfit makes the WoL look like a 12 year old child as where the Shire gear does not do this ( in my opinion ).

Honestly looks way better ingame than the art and it has very clean and clear details that are not jaggy like a lot of gear when you get somewhat close. Wont wear it all the time but the jacket will stick around as an alt glamour to mix things up now and then.

Now another note:
It has been one of FF14 general themes for the cultures of Eorzea to develop their culture and technology and move away from their original Fantasy theme life style.

Due to the introduction of magitek Eorzea's cultures have begun advancing in certain knowledges they originally were lacking since they depended greatly on Magic for their advancement of medicine and other means thus did not put much development into Technology.

Tataru's Outfit is based on Sharlayan outfit styles being based on Academic theme stuff but she put it into her own original design thus the outfit is basically one of a kind in FF14 world currently. However, it also reflect on one of the theme of FF14 about how the world outside of Garlemald is slowly developing away from the Fantasy life style as time passes. We see this throughout the game such as the linkpearls which as Cid explains are basically Earpiece Cellphones that uses micro chips to process the information and radio waves for communication but of course the Citizens of Eorzea still think it is Magic that allows the Linkpearl to function.

Also most fancy outfit designs start out "not fitting in" with cultures at the start but eventually the culture may start including the outfit as part of their cultures even if the process is slow.

It's okay. I like the top, but I'm indifferent about the bottom. The leggings look 'meh' on femroe and the shoes look too similar to sneakers. I think it'd look better with some thighboots

I like it well enough. I think I'm gonna use it for my SMN and my soon-to-be RDM, although I wished there wasn't a bowtie... But at least I finally have an excuse to use this hairstyle now. ˆˆ

Although the outfit really makes the slouch more prominent on Miqo'tes with certain hairstyles, unfortunately..

I personally love the style of the outfit. Definitely something I would have swapped to if I didn't already have the Field Commander's Set. Definitely going to be one of my starting glamours for Samurai, however.

Personally I like it very much. I used the garo healer gloves, I think they fit pretty well. But the monocle looks goofy on my character, I need to find something else x)

As an afterthought, I do see the school uniform-ness of it now, rather paired with other things, but I still like it.

My nitpicks:
I wish the skirt if dyed Pure White would actually be Pure White, not grey.
I wish the skirt wouldn't naturally be a shade darker than the color you dye it.
I find it odd dyeing the shoes Pure White turns part of it grey when it's already white.
I wish the panties were white not grey (but who's really looking, right?) <_<

I was excited for the bows on the drawing but instead we get another monocle

I had to laugh a little when Tataru told my character how great she looks in that outfit when I sat infront of my screen and thought "Oh god, no, my FemRoe cant wear that skirt with those tights and shoes, it looks aweful!"
Not really a fan of the outfit - even more so because a skirt like that doesnt seem very practical for an adventurer (and Tataru made the gear for the others with the idea of them going out in the wilderness in mind - at least I remember her saying so, so this is a bit odd to me). I dont know when and why someone should wear this outfit to represent the Scions and I'm specially a bit "sad" about how it was clearly designed with cute female characters in mind (hence it not fitting y Roe very well)

But what bothers me most is that weird... leather part on the one leg. Why is it there? What function does it serve? I know, I know, its a design choice, but having it asymetrical like that is killing the legs for me more than my Roe-legs being to "beefy" for it...

It is interesting how few people are only using the jacket considering the earlier parts of this thread (although I do wish that I could get rid of the bow tie). It is fun to feel like a "official" Scion for a change.
