I got 20 Legendary medallions from 77 FATEs :)
The mount for all 13 weapons glows at night here\\'s a picture http://mmomounts.com/sites/default/files/whisper-a-go-go-mount.jpg
I'm now 7/13 working on number 8
Tbh the droprate isn't so bad, i'd say its about the same as the current luminous crystals rate. Took me 44 hours and 696 fates. Best is to farm them while doing something else on the side. Just don't expect to drop one every 2 fates and it will be over before you realize it. :)
I hate you. It took me roughly 20 gold rated fates to get one legendary medallion. I'm not certain I'm going to get that radioactive sperm mount.
Every two fates? You've had extremely good luck. Congrats. Some of us take 20 fates to get a medal. /pat I figure I'm going to need to do 4.5k at this point to get the second mount. I'm sure that'll take a bit long than 44 hrs. ;P
I said not to do the event expecting to drop them very often and not that i dropped a medal every 2 Fates :P
Best i had was 6 back to back, but thats it.
Yes, well, I'm going on 30 gold rated fates and still one medal so, yeah, you had extremely good luck. :P And you think 6 back to back isn't "so" good? LMAO. Please. I'm praying for the second medal before I hit 40 gold rated fates but it's probably not going to happen.
Some areas seem terrible for drop rates, Lower La Noscea constantly has me doing 25+ FATEs per medal. It also seems that FATEs which sync your level at 50 or above have given me close to no medals.
SE needs to adopt a smart RNG algorithm. Something with a baseline drop chance that increases each time the drop doesn't happen, and then resets to baseline when a drop happens. The variance between total FATEs completed for players with all the weapons is ranging between 700 and 900 FATEs completed. That's a really massive gap.
I feel like a broken record, but once again, this is nothing like the pit of despair that was Atma on it's release. The drop rates were in the 1-2% for Atma back then and it was so bad that people were literally saying that you had to farm places at certain times in order to farm for the items effectively.
Listen, I know you only have one class to 50, but they aren't going to be dropping weapons that are actually viable for in-game progress from an event like this. To a lot of people, these glamours are much more important than the best weapon in the game because these are limited time events with extremely unique skins.
In my time doing this event, I've noticed quite a few dry spells in terms of getting Legendary medals and each time that they get next to unbearable, there is one thing that seems to be evident about the area. It seems that areas with low population may actually have lower drop rates (though this may be exaggerated by the fact that you can't do them as quickly as when you're with a big group). This is why areas like South Shroud, which always has a high population due to the Deep Dungeons being situated there, seems to have a much more stable drop rate even if you're soloing FATEs. Of course, there's still the chance that you are just abyssmally unlucky, and that's the unfortunate side effect of RNG.
Remember that there are a few rules to remember about having your minion out:
- You cannot have a Companion Chocobo out
- You must resummon your minion when you log in
- You must resummon your minion whenever your character dies
The problem is that the content is not entertaining at all. The devs should've learned it from Atma. Why do they keep making content with the same method that is known for not entertaining?
They choose it probably because its the easiest way to implement this event and because they have a free log in campaign going on right now and we are all running low level fates thus making those zones full again ;). (But poor newbies that are doing some fates only to be overrun by us oldies and standing no chance) I mean they still make hunts relevant again and again, so I am not surprised that they keep visiting a content nearly none want to do as a grind.
I do feel like the point about having the right minion out in the right zone seems to be not made too clear? I already sent two tells to some newer players that had the wrong minions out with one of them thanking me for that advice saying that he is new an later I gave him the tip to not summon his chocobo too. Not sure how many new or old players will try this event but will stop because they are frustrated with no drops (thus making a negative impact on this game for them) because they either have no luck even with the right minion out or reading it wrong and having the false minion out.
The Free log in campaign actually only pertains to players who previously had an account and haven't been subscribed in 30 days. So essentially they are trying to get oldies to come back and play for a bit. It does stand to reason that a new player could easily fall under those conditions and I agree that Yokai groups essentially destroy that source of experience for newer players.
I just got eleven Blizaria token in an hour OMG! Total Girl power moment! XD
A free company friend of mine got the alternate mount and all the weapons yesterday evening. He's been grinding pretty hard but did it in less than a week. :)
Or just make the YK watch add a temporary ability to our character and we use that ability to catch Yokai that randomly appear on the maps. Why using FATEs? And why the Atma style? As if it's the best activity that the fans desperately want to do and that the fans keep asking them to make more content like that. WE HATE IT, ok?
No, the community largely hates it. Yoshi even acknowledged it in the anniversary stream last year or the year before. Pure RNG for things like this simply don't work as you end up with some players putting in 10x the amount of time and effort compared to others in order to complete it. I was in a group with someone in Central Shroud yesterday who had been grinding there for three hours with me; I completed multiple weapons in that time whilst they got only ONE legendary medal. That is why the community hates it. The fact Yoshi acknowledged that and yet still implemented the anima-atma stage and now this completely baffles me.
While I do wholely agree with you to a good extent, they did allow players who actually completed the 2.X relic to skip the anima-atma stage. They also probably see it as a problem in terms of progression, but their whole outlook on this event has been that "you don't need to do all of it." Not to mention that since you get 2 months to do this event, you don't have to do it all at once either.
This event and style of making fates "important" is terrible. I actually lose more interest in playing when stuff like this keeps coming up.
Since I got 2 months to do it, I'm taking my time with it. I'm going with getting 15 Legendary Medals a day to keep it not so annoying. I already got 5 weapons. I should be done in about 2 weeks. No big deal.
The fact we have to call it the least painful part of a horrible idea does not exactly bode well. I'm surprised people are going all the way and trying to get every weapon when they likely will make it 100% drop rate on the last two weeks or something. If they don't I'd imagine there will be a lot of unhappy people.
I'm sorry if someone has already asked this, I admittedly don't want to go through 16 pages on my phone, but:
If you mount your chocobo/mount as a FATE ends, can you still get the legendary? (Since your minion is technically not out.)
Thanks!
@WinterLuna: Yes you can! I have done it, especially on the turn the macguffin in style fates. (being mounted apparently only causes the visual of your minion to disappear and they still count as 'out' even though you can't see them. its why you can spawn kaiser in western highlands while flying around)
I don't see why people would be unhappy, they know about the grind and how long they have to do it. They have plenty of advance warning and time to get it done if they really want them all.
I just got my 10th weapon today. I am doing about 30-45 legendary medals a day.
