Aeka Masaki here, named after the Jurain Princess from the Tenchi Muyo! anime. My FFXI char was named the same when FFXI was released in NA.
You get a Like by me. I have the first Tenchi Muyo! on DVD, then Tenchi Universe, Tenchi in Tokyo, and Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki that I found at a used bookstore.
My girlfriend and I decided on names for our children, and we will use 2 names that were used in video games and anime. My girlfriend likes the name Iris for a girl, and our daughter's middle name will be Kikyo (we both love InuYasha), plus "kikyo" in Japanese is a type of bellflower. Our son will be named Leon Hayate. My girlfriend lives in Japan, so that's why we chose those names (although she's Vietnamese).
EDIT: Why make a character named after an anime when you can name a character after a voice actor/actress? Lol http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/character/13873884/ Made her last night.
Welp I have no words
I have to say..I recently went through a name change to finally get a lore-related name for my Au Ra lady, and in doing that nearly ended up with the name of a Webtoon character xD
So maybe I shouldn't complain so much, maybe it's easier to end up with an anime name unintendedly than one would think °-°
This is especially true for Raen. A lot of older Japanese names, especially house names, are still in use today. Regardless of how you romanize them, these names aren't that uncommon. I'm sure there's a Sakura Yukimoto somewhere in anime. But, at the very least, I'm the second result in google, so... *shrug*
My main character is based on my favourite character from Suikoden 3, Cecille (Thomas's bodyguard) and Chris lightfellow.
