Actually, the Zeta is still the BiS weapon for sync lvl50 content. Indeed, if you use a i205 weapon for such content, it is scaled down to i130, not 135.

I'm so gonna laugh if the NPC is all like: "I demand one THOUSAND lala sacrifices to create the base weapon. Oh wait, you say murder is illegal, um ok, how about just some cash then?"

The end of the original relic quest was troll-y if people remember. "Hmm, I think I'm going to need...a hundred of EACH atma...yea...that would be greeat."

And we do Mean all. Buy something off MB? too bad, it;s his now. finnaly Got a Pony after 100 EX Primals? Now its his property. Managed to be one of the lucky few that won a coffin lid/wind up enchida? lolnope need to pay off that debt first. Leveling an alt? Sorry exp gets converted to gil to pay off your debt (100000 exp=1 gil). plot relevant items needed to finish the MSQ? currently in his pocket. CRAFTING? Gee thanks for making that expensive item for him.

Oh and he's gonna upgrade the weapon for us when we paid off half out debt. At least we get a title. "The Retainer"

Originally thought those Precision Gordian items would be a replacement to current token so you only need to trade in 1 for 1 piece of gear but... missing crank and pedal and wouldn't need bolt for that, also seems unlikely to be an upgrade if those are missing too, so yeah possible they're just for something unrelated. >.<

might be for the anima weapon. 1 item per floor.
or it might be a token system, where no matter how bad you loot you'll eventually get to choose an item. again 1 item per floor, so no need to add more.

or wild guess, considering how SE is basically throwing ilv210 gear at us, these might give us a chance to upgrade prototype gear to real gordian gear, but the items will obviously have a low drop rate (this one is unlikely though, since there was no mention of any new additions to the idyllshire npcs)

Nothing wrong with it. Patch is already out and they are keep it a secret from it. It's good to know anyway.

Well I mean I'm -pretty- sure datamining is against the TOS

and while it's good to know, they would have said in the patch notes if they wanted us to find out before playing. If I really really need to know, a quick Google can bring up the Reddit thread for me.

OF course i knew the names were from FFXI Most are named after the old Empy weapons.

tbh until we get in and find out no one knows for sure however if you think logically i doubt the new atmas are going to be skippable. Main reason being atmas are used to infuse a weapon not create one so the 1st step will be getting parts to make the weapon (which i believe is the new alex drops) then infuse them with the atmas however can probably skip alex since can use the zeta as a completed base and tbh if that is the case probably hardly worth the skip. Loads of people have a zeta and yoshida probably wants people doing fates in HW areas as no one does them making that skippable = what was the point.

But the fates are specifically used to gain items (crystals of various elements). These could be items used in the process of creating a weapon or infusing it.

I would wager that this is the skippable step, and in some sense they wanted anyone who is getting a relic to have done Atma's whether it was in 2.x or 3.x.

Actually, this statement is pretty backward considering everything after the initial quest - that included successfully completing the 5 toughest, sub-raid challenges the game had to offer at the time - was so much easier and didn't require skill nearly as much from players. Just time and repetition.

I'm pretty sure no one one to grind weeks for i210 Relic for Alt when they can get unlimited weapon from Thordan Ex.

It actually the opposite. Now people who have i210 have an easier time and want to do Thordan Ex more. Reddit Thread also posted Thordan Weapon also be equal damage to Relic due to some of the crappy status Relic have, skill speed -_-

Question say if the job you wanta trade the zeta you have in for isn't a 60 can you trade the zeta in for that jobs new weapon. You see I have a whm zeta but I don't want the new whm weapon I want the gun but my mch is only a 57 can I still get the gun. Or would I need to finish getting my mch to 60 1st.

Almost certainly going to have to wait until 60, A Relic Reborn wouldn't let you start another class until you hit 50 and did it's job quest.
