catkini parties!
It's all about my friends and FC mates. They provide "the happy" even if I can't understand everything they see in the game.
If they wanted to shift to a different game, I would have no trouble moving along.
This is like the local park. You played on the swings and slides long ago when they seemed pretty neat. Now, you just hang out with your friends on the bench (probably drinking) into the late hours and annoy the neighbors. Sometimes your group organizes a game of football or Frisbee, but it's not a regular thing. When your friends aren't around, it can seem pretty drab and dismal, although you can pass the time daydreaming on the old swing a bit. Sometimes you give the younger kids a push on the swingset, and you wonder how long until they tire of the same back and forth, but for the moment you are smiling with them. New play equipment gets added on a regular basis, but you quickly realize it's just a new paint job on the same old equipment.
It makes me happy that I was able to figure out how to turn off the music after my second or third ride on a chocobo.
When I think about how I'm called the Warrior of Light, but I'm really just a wandering mass murderer, I get happy.
One thing I would miss is Y'shtola. I'm still waiting for Alphinoud's drawing of her to show up as a housing item.
my order of what I enjoy in FF14
Races, trials, raids, music, friends!, people in my fc, glamour, hairstyles, scenery, housing, dungeons, main story, have all jobs on one character, marriage, events, mounts, and gold saucer.
What makes me happy I think would be just seeing my character every time I log in; he pretty much looks the same since i started playing about 8 months ago. Also all my mounts and minions I've collected, I'm always trying to collect more.
Another thing, just playing the game with my sister. :)
I'm sure there is more I'm happy about the game but this is all I can think of.
Being able to play with my family, helping others, the music, I love the music. Also, I was super happy today when I was finally done collecting those damn crystals.
I also love the server I am in now (Behemoth), people have been super friendly.
FC recruitment waves!
We have so many new members, it's delightful. Let mama WHM take you to leveling roulette.
Gorillas in M1 :D
Duty Finder Extreme Primals parties. Nothing more satisfying for me to go in Titan Ex in one single party and go from half party wipe on first arena downsize to a clear in next 50 minutes. No, I don't have masochistic tendencies.
Being better than Bads
The daily FC weirdness that goes on. Seeing Lala couples, Learning how to do new stuff and finally beating it, Trying on glamours for ages trying to find the perfect outfit like a schoolgirl going on her first date.
Beating a primal and winning weapon+mount+card !
Calmly sitting in the middle of the Gridania markets watching the giant egg rolling by invariably chased by multiple people.
Getting a new mount is always cause for celebration. Unfortunately many of them are locked behind high end content that in all likelihood I will never see. Savage? Extreme? Yeah right :(
The people I play with...I guess that is not the game itself..so doesn't count lol. Other then that uhh..I guess my character?
Seasonal events, working towards having a sweet, sweet room at the my FC, and generally anything other than doing normal quests. Oh, and gambling! I loves me some gambling.

Loving crafting & housing currently, been crafting so much :o
Primal Fights.
Ice themed characters.
The first half of the DRK quest line.
Having perfect tank swap synergy with a random person.
Running dungeons or just spending time with my boyfriend
Chocobo racing
Glamour
The scenery
Taking screenshots
Collecting mounts and minions
glamour items, glamour weapons (often from primals or relic), housing plots/furniture, mounts, minions. Things that dont go obsolete after about 5 weeks.
things that I dont care about: chasing the ilvl carrot dangling on a stick. I'll do this in my spare time, but I'm not making it a job. Not that I know how I still outgear 90% of ppl I meet despite my stance on it...
PvP, I log in almost only for it x)
Ahhhh, this is so me! I levelled Pugilist all the way to 50 through questing just so my Paladin could wear one specific glamour around the cities now and then. Generally it's often what pushes me to level my new alts too..... something which I can no longer do with the annoying 8/8 cap thoughhh! ;;
In any case, aside from glamours? The scenery. The music. The emotes. Taking (bad) screenshots. Editing said screenshots(terribly). The storryyyyy. Becoming better at a job. Running into new players that need help and are kind and grateful for explanations and tips. Running into experienced players that are friendly and can muster up a "Hello", "Thank you for the run" and "Goodbye".
Story, wish there was more and more of it :D
Glamouring, I will admit I'm a fashion addict. When I see something pretty, I will not stop until I get it. And when I do, it's the most amazing feeling in the world for me.
The storyline
The scenery
Playing the game with my friends.
Playing the game with my boyfriend whenever I can <3
finally getting a good pf group and getting my first clear on the ex boss.
Glamour, Solo healing, story, play with my partner and family.
for me it's the glamours huge glamour monger also love the games artwork but then it's final fantasy so you know it's good
Perfectly executed raid strategy and raids in general.
What me happy, hmm there are actually quite a few things:
first of all, the Story: I never really got into the Final Fantasy Lore or story that much back in the day, but FFXIV waked my Interest in it which i am glad of. of cours not all the Games though :P
But yea that is a major point, the story of FFXIV.
The next thing that actually is very important to me is simply the Raid. The actual Endgame Raids that we have. As much as i like to get some good items for my main Character to gear him up etc., the main thing for me is simply the "Thrill" of it.
Beating hard Bosses with a group of 8, working as a Team, the joy of finally getting a fight done for the first time.. I Raid becaus i Love it and i am very dedicated into it, pushing my limits, giving more then just 100%. I want to be there for the team i don't want to be a burden or a liability, Rading is not about "You" it is about "7 other People" you are raiding with and if you are not willing to improve week after week and treat everyone with respect, then you are at the wrong "place" my friend.
And yeah ehre and there glamouring around although im not good at it etc. ..Xd
Hildy/Savage raids/Extreme primals/Sacrificing lalas.
• Being able to make an HQ aspected item when I'm just barely geared enough to do so. It'll probably be a great victory if I can make an HQ darksteel hook when I'll be just geared enough to make one (a dodore belt should get me over the craftsmanship/control wall) as well.
• When tanking a dungeon goes off without a hitch, especially one that I went in blind on. These days I only run instances when I have to, not when I want to, so the sooner I get in and get out the better.
• (a semi-rant as well) When during FATEs healers that actually heal others, and not just single-targeting some out of the way monster. Same with tanks that actually keep monsters off other players, and not just fight their own personal monster in their own personal space. Nice when random strangers have each others' backs.
At the moment, the one thing that keeps me subscribed is the story. The combat really isn't much to write home about, crafting gets more convoluted with each update, and updates rarely bring anything new to the table that sticks. The story, on the other hand, that's good stuff.
For me, there's usually a burst of activity after a major update, which slowly trickles to a routine of logging in to complete dailies and then logging off. I used to be a lot more invested than I am at the moment, but after seeing the same pattern for updates for 2 years, it's hard to keep a positive outlook.
Running around in the low level maps, inventory stuffed full with all gear-mats under 30.
Spotting random new players, crafting them a shiny new weapon on the spot and seeing their happy surprise when I give it to them ^~^
(...unhappyness if it's someone on free trial and can't trade. xD)
the things that make me happy, is spending time with friends, getting some new glamours (though it isnt all that important, lol) and helping others in some way or another^^
Carbuncles Boingboingboingboing animation.
Titan and Sephirot Primal fights with the music turned up loudly.
For me, it's the sheer amount of stuff you can do. Combat is never boring, FF14 DESTROYS the sham that is WoW's profession system with sheer depth, there's always something you could be farming, some quest you could be doing. If I had a vacation, and all I had to do was play this game, I still doubt that I'd be able to get all the roulettes, dailies, weeklies, script farming, weekly caps, GC turn-ins and levequests done.
