So did I, but it wasn't because of the game itself. The community then was soo much better than it is now, though then it was comprised mostly of people with more than a little optimism for what awaited us once 1.0 ended. I did not like much of the game's various shortcomings and do not miss anything of what was left behind save one. The people I'd gotten to know in the experience.

Anyways those who did the Legacy Campaign (subbing for 3 months) back in 1.0 were/are rewarded with these exclusives:

Otherwise, all 1.0 players will get to keep their 1.0 items, which aren't exactly protected by the Legacy Campaign Exclusivity mentioned above

NOPE...I am all for others getting stuff from the past, (I am legacy btw) but that tattoo was something that they gave us for stickin thru the tough times. Maybe a different kind of tattoo, that would be cool...but no, that's our mark, it holds a lot more then "speshul snowflake status" for a lot of us. It reminds us of 1.0 times, friendships made and adventures, etc!

So in conclusion..no friggin way lol.

Well met! Rare to find someone willing to speak positive about 1.0.

I struggle to imagine living a life so devoid of purpose or meaning that the idea of a tattoo on a fictional character being sold for money mattered to me in the slightest.

There people out there, I enjoyed 1.0 also of what I played but I stopped cause needed a super computer to play the game that really the only complaint I had about it.

I am all for giving people the option to buy the exclusive Legacy tattoo. Except when you actually buy it instead of the tatoo a money sign appears on your back looking like this.

As for OP - sorry but no. NOPE. NEVER. NOT IN A MILLION YEARS. Just no. Have all sorts of tattoos wherever, I can fully support tattoos in general, but not that one. No. Just no.

They want it because it is unobtainable and unique, most won't care at all once everyone has it because it will be neither of those things anymore. Leave the tattoo how it is now, it's only appreciated because of scarcity.

Everyone loved Sleipnir, they put it on the Mog Station. A lot of people bought it, and now almost nobody seems to use it because everyone else has the same thing, there is no accomplishment or meaning behind it.

1.0 free time was around 1 year and some months after launch long and the price of the 1.0 game box was for a while at $5.
It was not a huge thing to buy the game and to create a character. Especially at launch, where many players joined with hope ^^

I have a question about that tattoo though: Is that tattoo the one the Scions of the Seventh Dawn has, or is that a different one?

They should just make a Scions related tattoo and put it in the aesthetician.

Also: lol at the money sign appearing instead of the actual tattoo...and don't forget Yen for Japan, Pound for the UK/England, and any other currency sign that's appropriate for the country.

The way I see it which is the only real way is that yes we showed our support we payed the required subscription time. In this way we showed that we intended to continue to play the game that was broken into its new version. Yes there probly are people who just made a character paid the sub then walked away till 2.0 came out but so what they still showed their support.

This has nothing to do with special snowflake or what ever. I'm done arguing this so keep at it if you want people it will never happen.

Also I liked the old version too at lest some of the stuff but the lag.

They'll never do it. It's one of the only ways for some people to feel like special snowflakes.

I'd support it being in the cash shop but only at some ridiculous price. We had to pay for at least 3 months of 1.0 to get our legacy status. That's $30. That should be the starting point.

Ehh...as someone who is most definitely not a legacy player, I vote no. More tattoos in cash shop? That I'm okay with. But just let the legacy players have their thank you from SE for keeping the game alive and telling them what needed to change. It just makes SE look bad if they go back on their promises for something like that.

That's like when games give beta-test characters a title and everyone else wants it. Now I do agree the rewards should be account wide for legacy players and not character restricted if they're not already. All time sensitive awards really should be account-wide for this game. Just because the devs didn't design the game with alts in mind doesn't change that people have them or like starting over.

I'm not Legacy - even though I wanted to be (Curse my shallow wallet, semi-outdated laptop, and no 1.0 PS3 client! TT_TT) - but I do NOT support this idea. The Tattoos should always be Legacy player exclusive.

Although I will admit I'd love to see a "similar-but-different" Legacy Chocobo mount (akin to the Gobbue mount and the Laurel Gobbue mount). I'd even settle for a way to only have the tips of of my Chocobo dyed black.

But asking for "Legacy Exculsive" stuff? No. Even if I covet that stuff more than a Full set of HQ pentamelded crafter/gather gear, Legacy players earned the right to at least some exclusive items and appearance options that newer players should never have access to.

Oh make no mistake, I think both sides of the argument are asinine at best. But seriously, you paid $40 at a minimum during that time and were able to play the game for free for a sizable portion of 1.0's lifespan. Please stop acting like you were scraping by to send every last cent you had to SE and that you single-handedly pulled the company from the brink of bankruptcy.

I'm not even a Legacy player and I don't agree to this! The tattoos are for 1.0 players as a type of thank-you gift. It would be a slap in the face to the 1.0 players. I mean, yeah, it's just a tattoo and doesn't have any value, but it would make SE look like money grubbing Indian Givers if they did this.

Bah I have a tattoo on a legacy character and could care less. 1.0 was crap and no tattoo will make me remember it fondly.

For all the legacy stuff you were required to pay for 3 months?

Make it 3 months cost, round up to the nearest five. Now you have both equally supported the game. Or better yet add a new better tattoo in the cash shop and lore it in somehow. That basically makes it that one or legacy.

I always thought that out of all the stuff that was in the cash shop extras that were tied to some real world item should be available for sale. Should a new player never get a moogle costume? What about the moogle earrings that came with the 25th FF anniversary set.

Yes put it in Mog Station. Hummilate the early supporters and loyal customers by giving free gear and gils only to 2.X players. Also please increase the monthly fee for subscribers on Legacy servers and 1.X customers only and put all their belonging in the shop. The ones who will continue playing despite all this throw them in Titan where they will suffer Landslides eternally while the newer players will laugh at them and buy their stuff from the shop.

Better yet, if people want one so badly that they're willing to pay for it, have it tied to Rowena/Syndicate, since they seem to be the money grubbers in the game. You want to spend the money, have it tied to them, and nothing else.

I really like my tattoo. It reminds me that my character has been around since 2011, even if I didn't get to put as much time on it as I'd have liked to due to the hours I was working when I created her.

I like having a reminder that my character has been in Eorzea for quite a while and was there for the Calamity. It's something that makes her special to me. This is the only MMO where I've ever been able to stick to a single character for years at a time and I love having that history, and the tattoo is a good representation of that.

Because of that I'd really prefer not to have the mark added to the cash shop. If enjoying that and preferring 1.0 characters have it makes me wrong, entitled, or a bad person then I guess I'm guilty. Throwing money at something like that isn't the way to go I don't think. It only upsets a lot of loyal consumers who enjoy it, and for newer players it won't have the same significance as a lot of original players enjoy.

What I'd like to see instead is a big event or important quest in the future that would warrant another mark or brand of some sort so that newer players can have something to show the history and stories their characters have been through as well.

This reminds me of a thread someone made saying 2.0 players should get some sort of prize in 3.0 for supporting Square from 2.0.

It wouldn't fit with the lore!

Will a tramp stamp tattoo suffice instead? Because you won't get the legacy one. lol

I am a legacy member have my name in the credits and everything but my char doesn't have the tattoo because I made a new char because I wanted a male mi'quote and didn't know that my old char I could change the name on when I first made it. By the time I learned I could change my name I was quite far in the game already. I would like that people who have a legacy account's chars get the tattoo.

Would be rather disappointed with Devs if they decided to add Legacy Tattoo to mog station.

This coming from someone who should have a tattoo, but I was dumb enough to delete my original 1.0 Character because I wanted to be a new fangled femroe.

Did I hold my breath in protest till I got what I wanted? Nope, I kicked myself for not doing research to know I'd be getting a free fantasia for being legacy, and moved on, imo so should everyone else who doesn't have this bonus.

So I read all this. Is it bad that the first thing I thought about is 'What happened to my Travel Companion.' I oddly miss her. I picked her cause she had a positive and 'get the job done' Attitude.
