I agree, a Japanese developed game is being harmed by having a Q&A session in it's native language, it's almost like Western developed games having Q&A sessions in English harmed the game as well.

I got 3 hours of sleep trying to get my work done early last night.... and I am up at 6am.... for this? :( IMO they should not have translated to all of us they were having this broadcast at all without mentioning that if you don't know their language, you shouldn't bother waking up at this ungodly hour. I will keep hoping for a translator. My understanding so far is... "blabla, yes, blablabla, yes, yes, blabla, yes yes yes, blabla, yes!!! YES! /nods a lot"
I don't think I will get excited over anything SE has to say again.... until I actually see if it's worth getting excited over.... what a total letdown...

#XIVLive Q: Hello. I started playing after release, but I quit after hitting rank 30. I plan to come back. In your eyes, what do you think is the main feature of the game in its current state? It would help a lot if you can clear that up for players that are planning to return to the game.

A: It’s hard to say in its current state. We are only about 50% done regarding content. However, if we are talking about 1.19, I would have to say chocobos and Ifrit will be the main content. Everyone should get that FF-feeling with this content.

Oh really Jennestia? So do American developers advertise a live broadcast of an upcoming live event IN JAPANESE on their official JAPANESE WEBSITE with not a single mention that the event will be entirely in Japanese?

That's what translators do. >____>; It's called a dub, and they could hire someone to translate on site to dub over the japanese from a different room. What do you think translators for political officials do? Get a transcript from foreign ambassadors and translate later in the evening in their leisure time?

I admit that takes a lot more foresight, but telling non-japanese players to tune in to participate is a bit...how are you going to know how they answer your question? Check back later? It defeats the purpose of tuning in live.
