I'm a bit confused. Whose preset is it? the OP's or TenebrisCandidus?
And if you tweak the crazy high DOF and reduce the bloom the UI doesn't take a hit so you can 100% uptime the shaders and the DOF.

Here's my tweaks after playing with someone's preset. Added a bit more vibrancy to the colors, adjusted the natural whites and blacks, and just a little bit of sharpening.
While I like the Reshade stuff and will definitely look into it, isn't it time we let the whole "I'm going to attach Reborn to every topic title I make because it's catchy!" trend die?
Please.
I'm just a grumpy person, but this reshade stuff is really nice.
You can get it here, but I use Reshade so make sure you have the appropriate files.
Hello again ^_^
Bunch more screenshots of my current preset below and perhaps more importantly, files! I probably didn't need to grab all the included textures or whatever but I've included them to be safe. The current setting also has the black bars turned off but they can be restored with the #define USE_BORDER setting in the SweetFX_settings file.

This is the settings I use.
My friends said the colors are a bit strong, but for me they look awesome~

Took a bunch of comparisons today, there might be some without comparisons but 90% of them do. I don't think I can ever play this game without Custom shaders anymore D:
Awesome, Thank you! I am having trouble getting it to all work though. I downloaded the ReShade Framework and can seem to get the game able to run with it, but I can't find a way to make your files work properly. First time using ReShade so I'm not entirely sure of the proper way of doing this.
I'm not a reshade whizzkid, but just some notes for others to think about.
1. Blurradius even at single digits still noticeable,
2. Nearblurcurve higher at around 6.5 helps keep the true front of the screen i.e. the UI clear
3. Messing around with the above and then putting Farblurcurve really low or even in minus figures comes at DOF from "reverse" and helps give DOF with a decent UI
just for clarity I have a subtle but playable-DOF at
my blurradius is at 2.0
my nearblur at 6.5
my farblur at 0.5
Sorry, probably should have made some a bit clearer.
Download ReShade from here: https://bit.ly/ReShadeBeta-0-19-2-Framework (Yes, Mediafire, it's the files linked to directly through http://reshade.me/, I'm just saving you a step :P)
Run the "ReShade Setup.exe" and point it at your FFXIV exe in *install location*\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn\game. Either the ffxiv.exe or ffxiv_dx11.exe depending on whether you use DX9 or DX11. Do NOT boot the game when it says it has done installing. Instead close the prompt and open the location of the exe. There should be a folder called "ReShade" in there now. Replace it with the one I linked to and you're good to go. If you want to adjust settings, open the various .cfg files in Notepad and mess around. Create backups if you like anything you do as Notepad isn't the best for undoing changes.
Oh and as for toggles, I currently have them set to * on the numpad for all effects on and off and - on the numpad for DoF on and off. They do clash with default in-game binds though so you may need to change either the toggle or the in-game things. The Common_settings file contains the toggle for everything but DoF (#define RFX_ToggleKey VK_MULTIPLY) and McFX_settings has the toggle for DoF (#define DoF_ToggleKey VK_SUBTRACT).
That should cover it ^_^
Hey guys sorry for the long wait, i uploaded my preset for everybody to enjoy!. I kind of stopped playing XIV for a little while which is why i haven't been posting here. Got a new job and am sorting out some IRL problems so that delayed a lot of things i wanted to work on unfortunately. Anyway check the description for a link to my preset, MAKE SURE YOU READ THE DESCRIPTION OF MY PRESET!!!!!!!!
I've been really hanging out for this, but it reduces my FPS down to 9. My old reshade settings let me run at around 50 - 60fps average @ 3440x1440 so I'm not exactly sure what is devouring all the FPS in your settings. I'm turning things off 1 by 1 but it's not coming along well
Whatever the problem I solved it in a round about way by incorporating half of your settings with mine and fiddled with things such as this new ambient lightning feature (I was using 18.3 before so this wasn't in that one) and I bloody love it so thanks for making me upgrade version haha. Going into The Vault with the new AL is pretty amazing looking. Oh and the ability to let AL settings use Heat Haze can lead to some awesome things such as deserts being awesome. Only downside though is any warm colours can give this effect too so I often seen yellow titans or carbuncles giving off this haze which I guess isn't that bad on 2nd thought. Here are some shots that I took. Last one looks all wonky because of heat haze and you can't accurately capture that.
