If you could even call it a 'defense' because people's reasoning for keeping the GC restriction is so weak. My favorite one is the whole 'I'm not PVP'ing alongside people in ____ faction or ____ faction!' as if any of those people couldn't do a GC swap and be the same as them tomorrow... and that somehow would make them more or less of a worthy teammate?

Being allied with people who chose the same GC at level 20 is not more important than my real world time... which amounts to an hour a half, with 10-15 min playing and 45 min waiting on it to start.

I haven't signed my name here so I'll throw myself on here too. I've mentioned my suggestions in another thread but I'll post them here for ease of access:

- We'd like to play with our friends (FC or friends list), and
- Swapping GCs is a long-term loss for short term satisfaction, and
- A lot of work was invested in the PvP but the rewards feel underwhelming
- We'd like 1vs1 PvP in open world just to encourage more interested participants

But please, add something as a reward to encourage people to explore the content.
Even if you like the pvp the waiting time is a pain.

1 vs 1 is not something that would be even close to be balance so seriously no need to invest any time in that

I agree, though I do think there should be a request duel option for people wanting to do that for fun. There should also be an option for each player to disable duel requests if they don't want random people duel requesting them.

I've defended the GC restriction before, but not very adamantly. I did so under the pretense of story and thinking outside the box. It's fine that they want to follow the story and it's fine that they want to experiment with an immersive method involving it... at the time. The story, however, does not have any sort of pre-existing reason to have GCs rival each other after 3.0 MSQ. It also allows for them to do away with the GC queue requirement and allow for better queue times in testing out the removal of a rather unwanted limitation by the player base. This automatically eliminates my need to defend the upcoming PvP setup. Now, I suspect that they might be planning on adding it to the queue, of which it would make the GC requirements seem needed in order to do a PvP roulette. That isn't a very good reason to defend its existence, IMO, as it can always be changed (lore-wise) to be training exercise related with Teams 1-3. The only changes needed in that case are text/font/flag alterations.

Honestly dropping the GC restriction at this point is the first and foremost step to fixing PvP, which no one, and I mean NO ONE can deny that its broken, lost and forgotten at this point. (Except for those willing to put themselves through it for glamor(like me, I love torture and Glamors))

Same goes for housing too, instead of adding more to already broken content, they should be thinking of fixing the core problem first, not just covering it up with more items.
No one can seriously believe that houses are in good supply right now. (if any at all).
Stop with the housing items which half the community will never see or use, and supply more wards square.

Just place everyone on random teams while keeping parties together. Simplify the teams to Red Team, Blue Team, and Yellow Team.

At the very least, allow us to play with our friends from other GCs. Have the party leader's GC affect which team the party will join.

I'm not much of a PvP player myself but if the queues didn't take 2 hours(literally the case on sarg)and i could play with friends i'd play it a lot more!.

I very much support this change.

Remove GC restrictions and do whatever else needs to be done to get PvP queue times to a manageable level. No one wants to sit in a queue for more than 30 minutes.

I'm bumping this because I feel like content in this game is starting to stagnate and PvP is the one thing that is never the same experience twice. This game NEEDS PvP to ensure the longevity of its success. GC restriction HAS TO GO. PvP needs more than that in my opinion, but that is a major first step that needs to be taken.

Enjoy not fighting at all then because restrictions have seriously been terrible since the introduction of FL. We're not talking about 15 - 20 minute queues here, we're talking about queues that last for hours on end. Is that what you want?

And anyone that says the wait "is not bad", is clearly delusional.

Im pretty sure that the tomes would pile up pretty quickly through this mode if PvP ever were to be effectively popular, so I doubt there is a need for that.

Aaaand I think I heard something about a ranking from patch to patch or the other somewhere in the letters or the such...

Not a single dev response, now our only post recently in the pvp section was to say we are quietly listening.

This simply is not good enough, this issue has been around since day 1. Surely after day 1 of the new mode added you can see how hc restriction is damaging pvp, with people including myself reporting q's in the hours

What have you listened too exactly?

You have removed rank from previous sets, our months of grinding completely destroyed. Your quick fix to bring in glamour farmers will result in again pvp q's dieing out within a month tops.

The 1 thing we have asked for is gc removal!!!! It's ti.e to be noisy not silent se.

Also,please, allow us to switch alliance group before the start. Yesterday i've found multiple time alliance without healers, when the other one was full of them.

Best time was alliance A 4 Tanks, Alliance B 4 Healers. While healers can heal allied too, fix the party is a great quality of life improvement.

They could incorporate a roulette system so you go to what ever gc is short on people to make the q's faster. The plot is covered and people get faster q's. Most pvp'ers don't care about stories and lore anyhow.

"Training Mode"

Same Experience, Same Rewards, No Grand Company Restrictions.

"Limited Parties"

Say only 30 people que, it will throw you in 10 people raids instead and more people can join AS it progresses.

Well, I will say this for the GC restrictions. If it werent for hours long queues, I would never have leveled a crafting class. But I cant do anything with a cutscene (it might be longer than the ready check), I cant do other instances (cause they will pop first), I cant FATE grind with my chocobo (cause you cant be in a party unless you are all queued), Cant activate Levequests (they might take too long), So i end up crafting cause for the most part, the low level stuff doesnt really take that long. I probably wont be able to later on though.

Basically its, Play every other aspect of the game or sit in front of your screen afraid to move, piss, get a drink, or anything but keep the auto afk from kicking you and make sure you dont miss your queue. I havent screamed curse words that loudly in a long time as i did when I waited almost two hours (in 2.X), finally said screw it, went and took a pee to come back to being out of the duty finder with a 30 min penalty...

If this doesn't tell you that this system NEEDS to be removed i do not know what will.
And this is the queues even with the new mode out, just remove it already i want to actually play pvp.
