I figured it's the perfect way to bump it. :p

I desperately want at least the ears for males, even though I believe there should be a hole bunny outfit. When I saw the GS images, and saw the outfits available, I jumped to the conclusion... the gambler's outfit would ultimately be unisex and the bunny outfit would be female only. I play a Lala. I could do an adorable white rabbit outfit with a patrician's coatee.
I don't understand why this hasn't gotten a response yet, the ears wouldn't even need a hare of remodeling, they'd just need to be resized slightly. You'd think they'd spring to it. I'm getting carrot away, this whole post is a little coney, so I think it's time I end this post before somebody gets angora.
I'd prefer to see the costume adjusted so that it's distinct when used by male characters instead of being a simple copy and paste of the female version. We don't exactly need more androgynous/feminine gear for male characters - if anything, we need stuff that's sexy but still rather masculine.
With that said it is becoming a tad tiresome to see female characters get a lot of gender locked gear only for men to get very little by comparison. The Best Man's set is a great example - why wasn't that limited to men?
I support more options/availability and I am always in favor of pleasing as many players as possible, not just some sooo.. I have to agree.
A complete male outfit would be nice, like a chipndale lol ...wooot, making it rain baby lol!
I also would love to see a pair of floppy, furry ears available to all, I have seen many ppl with the current ears and although they are OK....Im still very unsure about getting them when I do reach 20k....idk, they are a tad toooo pointy and rock hard stiff. Oo
Make a set like an angora bunny!

both floppy and bouncy or at least one flopped over plz!
I think it's just SE having a problem with male rabbit in general.
If I'm not mistaking for all male locked gear there is a similar gear for female, but there are quite a few gear that are unique to female only and where males get nothing.Quote:
Q38: In terms of new races, what kind of races are you looking into and will mixed races be introduced?
A38: I don't think we'll have mixed races for a while. Since it seems like Viera is popular around the world we have been proactively looking into this, but since having a rabbit male might be kind of weird, maybe we'll look into having a separate race for the male counterpart.
So it's more of a 'nothing for males vs everything for females' so far.
And I can guess that the Best man set wasn't locked because otherwise most people would have scream murder since women wearing suits is acceptable irl so it should be in game too.
I guess SE is just really not inspired by men and what they can wear.
I'm still pretty annoyed that the wedding attire for men is just a recolor of the bestman's pants and shoes and some very unoriginal gloves that we already had +5 versions of; while the female set was, afaik, all new looking gear.
And let's not forget the ST/WOD/PvP mage gear sets that were obviously made for females with all the pastel colors and ribbons, but that usually looks atrocious on male characters... Could I please have a dress that doesn't make my character look like a joke? plzkthx. /looking at you Astrologian AF gear.
...lol? Wth? Someone care to explain this to me please? Like...seriously...I'm baffled...like, how? Male rabbits don't exist irl? Or, hello Bugs Bunny? Bunnymund? Whoever else? How is it any weirder than male cats? Or femRoes? Like, really? @_@
And that - personally, I don't much mind the pastels and ribbons and the like, but I am offended at the idea of recolors being sold to us as different gear: dunno the wedding gloves, but yeah, ST and WoD sets, the Valentione outfit from last year, who knows what else... please stop with that kind of laziness please.
Seriously though, if all they're lacking is inspiration... Here, I drew a thing. The two sets of ears ended up looking way better than I thought they would... :o
If it absolutely must be done on the cheap or never done at all, I'm pretty sure most of this could be done using existing mesh assets. I'd also kill to have low-cut pants that aren't restricted to Dragoons and tanks (besides Dreadwyrm).
But even just the ears would be nice.
(Notice me, sempai!)
I can understand if SE wanted to help make different outfits depending on gender.
But I don't see why Boys can't have bunny ears too. I consider those bunny ears a unisex item tbh. XD
This is the best I could do. Please don't be too embarrassed and just graciously accept that your character is cool-looking enough that I wanted to try drawing him. (Also, payback for linking me in a LFtP question.):p
This time I tried keeping to the basic color scheme of the female version and drawing something similarly revealing, bit still masculine, that also could be a functional casino uniform. Well, about as functional as panties and fishnets are for a women's work uniform...
I know the art team has people who can come up with something better than this. Come on, guys!
I think that's an awesome thing you did, any player not grateful for having their character imagined in the context of one of their requests would be out of their mind.
I personally think it sucks that when it comes to gender locked items, for every item that's gender locked to male players, there's also an equivalent option available to female players- and yet the reverse is definitely not true. There are so many types of outfits where there's one option available to male/female characters, and another available to only female characters.
Sure, I hardly wish to wear a bridesmaid dress... or any dress, though if I were to run WoD and get the healer gear, sadly that would force me to wear a dress anyway. Like Scyllla's granny dress from ST. Ever see a male Hyur Highlander in one of those- totally Silence of the Lambs time... "It rubs the lotion on its skin, or else it gets the hose again."
Which makes me wonder why a lot of items are gender locked from guys, you can't say it's to be 'fair' since girls can wear gambler's outfit, and the bunny items are sold as somewhat of a parallel to that.
Still waiting on some bunny ears for my male character
The closest guys have currently are the usagi kabuto from the first Heavensturn event back in 2011(?), which is not only ears but the complete cute body of a bunny on the head. I think that's far less traditionally masculine than simple bunny ears.
I vote no to this idea. lol...
Are 'glamors' gender limited? For example if start on female character, glamor a non-gender specific head piece with bunny ears (if bunny ears are able to be used as glamor) then fantasia into male would the gear restriction be the only one in place or would gear restriction and gender gender restriction be in place? Bunny ears should not have been made gender limited in the first place. SE should change it to both genders.
It would work the same as if you had glamoured SMN AF to a piece of gear you equipped on BLM: you could still equip the gear, but you wouldn't see the glamoured appearance.
There are pieces of gear that change appearance based on race/gender, and those can be used for glamour (it would just show whichever model applied to your current race/gender), but the GS bunny set is one of many that is simply restricted to female characters for equip/glamour. Hence this thread.
I just switched to a male character. (until dragon girl) I kind of wish I hadn't bought the bunny set because, unlike the devotion (marriage) or lightning/snow set we can't exchange the female pieces for male pieces via calamity salavager. That is pretty annoying.
That's because there is no corresponding male outfit to switch it with. That's what a lot of the complaints have been about, a female restricted outfit that has no counterpart for males. We want the ears to be open to either gender and the rest of the outfit to have a counterpart male outfit.
hrm... bunny ears for guys would allow for some Alice in Wonderland role play O_o;;
Greetings,
Currently there are many pieces of male equipment that can be altered to be worn by the female characters, but certain equipment specific to females cannot be adjusted for males due to the differences in the character models.
However, there is female-specific gear (such as the head and hand equipment) that can be modified to fit with male character models, so we'll consider those requests based on the feedback we've been receiving. Also, we plan on creating more exciting male-specific equipment in the future to help the balance of gender-specific gear.
If this is only your third post as a community team member, I can already tell you're going places.
Glad to finally get a response!
Please just mostly eliminate gender-specific restrictions altogether... I get some like Bikinis vs. Swim Trunks but please reduce the amount overall.
The bunny outfit especially should be gender-unrestricted.
P.S. Please visit the PVP Forum today, soon hopefully, everyone is feeling very ignored over there...
I understand the differences between models and adjustability, but, well, it's the dev team's own fault for designing things that way? Ie. if such gender-locking is absolutely a must, they should make sure there's at least an equal amount of outfits for both genders. Which has not been the case lately. But mostly, yes, just abolish gender-specific stuff altogether. Having to design outfits is a given, anyway, I'd guess even with different models, adjusting a design should require less work than coming up with an entire new set of clothing?
ALSO ABOLISH CHARACTER LIMIT PLEASE. I'M FED UP WITH BEING PUNISHED EVERY DAMN TIME I'M TRYING TO POST SOMETHING.
O///O
...
That is perfect! *-* Thank you.
But seriously though don't do such things as surprising me with artworks because such things will make me want tostalk youkeep in touch with you more.
Also why am I only seeing this now....sorry for being late. I'm a derp. @.@
My points:
1. I'm not against Male version of bunny ears (maybe Floppy bunny ears?), Since miqo'tes have ears it would be a bit awkward to have 4 ears :P
2. Rightful to have a Male locked items equal in number as the Female locked items.
3. I would like to see more restricted gender/race items.. I still use Miqo'te male vest, hope to see a new set.
- I hate Scylla's Robe.. a real dissapointment.. all Genders/Races same... it looks good on some, but not all!
- Demon's Hat of Healing, God.. when I got it I was: "/a O-hohohohoho, I feel so pretty!". There should be a male version of the loot, with a slight less feminine touch to it.
I can't understand how a Japanese game can think that way when they have such a big amount of cross dresser and cosplayers. Remove the gender lock. I want my male elf to wear a dress and be pretty :P
bunny ears are impossibly tacky
Impossible to be adjusted, perhaps, but not impossible to be redesigned to fit. Even with the right algorithm they shouldn't be impossible to put something in and have it get the model extremely close, to where it just needed tweaking. And many less people here are asking for MORE gender specific gear, most people are asking for restrictions to be removed, not imposed more heavily.

Oh, for crying out loud...
This... is not what you promised us. If anything, it's worse. What about this is "balance?"Quote:

surprise surprise... i can't even bring myself to care anymore.
Bumping for attention :p
Why is it, that some are actually "against" males wearing bunny ears? They couldn't care less if they don't want to wear them they don't have too ._.
How about we (females) get a host club in gold saucer, so we can drool over some males as the males do over some bunny-females? x:
Ps: yea I play a male character, cuz I prefere (halfnaked) males over females
That would be great if guys could have bunny gear! +_+ Would help when I make my maid/butler cafe in the game. Do it SE! DO IT NOW!
Yesyesyes a pair of black short shorts, cuffs, bow tie, and smart shoes to go with the bunny ears please. I was very disappointed to find that the bunny suit could not be equipped by males, especially as one thing that initially impressed me about the game was the (mostly) equal share of fan service gear.
Seeing as I can't play the game at the moment perhaps I should draw my vision. Sadly the thing keeping me from the game probably also keeps me from drawing.
I'm glad to see that it is at least noted, from three months ago. I remember back then when the Gold saucer opened, one of my fc friends probably became server first to get the ears and how disappointed I was when I couldn't "Try On" it. I must confess, I even looked into a modding community that fixes this issue which I find none.Quote:

...so how long has it been since this? Man, must really be a lot of difficult work to get a pair of strap-on ears equippable on the heads of the other gender. (In addition, they also said they'd make the floppy ears available for purchase, which hasn't yet happened either, even for the girls, despite some of the GS NPCs wearing it.) I mean I know it's not priority, but come on...
