I noticed a horde of multiboxers in Eastern Thanalan the day of the emergency maintenance, and they seemed to be up to more than their usual shenanigans. They were just winking in and out of the zone, standing two feet from a low level quest npc, all of the bots being low level themselves. They were there most of the day, and weren't there after the patch. Could be entirely unrelated, but if they were somehow repeating a quest for a silver or gold allagan piece reward, they would be raking in tons of gil per minute.
If such an exploit were discovered, SE would obviously do an emergency maintenance to remove the issue, but wouldn't list that specific info in a patch note so that Gil sellers would not be warned. And assuming the dyeable valentine's day clothing was already finished and in queue to be added to the next hotfix, THAT data would have been announced in place of the offending exploit.

I'd say in a given month there's 1 major patch and 2-3 emergency patches. Sometimes more in a month with a large patch.
I've seen much, much worse. It's really about average for an MMO that isn't 10+ years old. -

You know... I actually don't really mind (albeit still questioning) if that latest maintenance was just for pure maintenance, since it does happen several times.
But what ticks me the most is the unnecessary glamour update. Can't they just do that on a quite major hotfix/patch instead of wasting several hours of ppl's game time? :p -

Just look at all the launch issues it had that were almost entirely server related, more so than the usual MMO issues, with some of them still being there. Hopefully they've been working on it and refining for Heavensward but I wouldn't hope for a lot. Remake or not the game itself is almost 5 years old, there's pretty much no excuse.Quote:
