What NEW races would you like to see?

I'd like to see some sort of reworking of the Amal'jaa, but one that isn't as violent.

They could be like a sister race, kind of like how the Highland Hyur and Midland Hyur are related.

Could call them the Amal'jin. They would look the same, except not as tall and huge as the Amal'jaa cousins are.

But that's just tossing around ideas.

I'm guessing you're misunderstanding how this might go, or that you haven't played too many games with stuff like this. Take XI for example.
What did we get with it? Quests and content to become Dancers.
What did the base game get updated with?
Dance emotes.

This is how I see it panning out. PS3 release launches, with it comes new races, but not locked to the console-game itself, instead patched into the base game.
Because it's something as basic as a new playable RACE, instead of a new JOB tied to an expansion, I don't see why they couldn't do this.

besides, from how I'd figure it, the only reason they're marketing it for the PS3 is to give it a little more spice than to say "Guess what? New console version!!!" That said, it would be obvious to the marketing team and to the devs to make it base game compatible, that the release coinciding with the release of the PS3 version is merely a way to get more people interested.

However, if they wanted to tie the new races in with the PS3 release they could offer a free ticket inside for a one time race change, and offer it to the rest of the player base for a small amount of crysta. That or make it questable.

Whats so bad about paying an extra $25 anyways? We've practically used up more than $100+ worth of subs since the release. lol

First and ONLY comment i have about this... are you referring to playable races and if so i sure as hell HOPE your gonna be allowing current players to change race and keep stats cause alot of people are hitting 5-10 rank 50 jobs and it would be a big F you to those players not allowing this... you gave us races we had to choose from and we played our characters loyally for almost a year now, and then new races? sure hope your not gonna just say F you to all those players and tell them if they like the new races to drop over a years worth of work and start a new character (yes i start over a year cause it will be over a year of play time by time these come out :p )

Burmecian type race like Freya.
Espers like Terra.

Selkies and Yukes? All cool playable races from the Final Fantasy universe that can be based off of for new races in this game, amirite?

The fact that the female Miqo'te are catgirls makes sense because they are female. They are petite and feline. However, I feel like the Male Miqo'te REALLY need to bring out the primal cat side of the race.

Kind of like..They're releasing the Female Roegadyn. You don't expect the Female Roe's to be huge and buff like the males. Yes, I imagine they will be amazonian in their likeness, but you get my point.

Female Miqo'te bring out the petite, fun, and curious side of the Miqo'te race. I want to see the primal warrior hunter in the males. If ANYTHING, at LEAST make them a cousin race like the Highlander Hyur are.

Personally if we're gonna have male miqote I'd hope they resemble actual uh....Men with cat ears and tail. Perhaps different or shorter from female miqote. idk. It's possible to make them manly without making them completely bestial. I don't think that's really SE's style anyhow.

They just need to give Roeg's their tails, and then anyone who wants a big burly beastish type character, can go Roeg.
I for one feel that male Miqo's should still have a feminine touch to them, maybe while also aiming in a regal direction as well.

That does look good, but at the same time I'd at least like an off-shoot race that is more to what I was explaining. They have a barbarian style off-shoot of Hyur. Why can't the Miqo'te have the same? Would be nice to see, I think.

They've made countless beastmen races, they just usually make them the enemy.

They'd made lizard-men (Bangaa), the pig-like race (Seeq), and a catgirl race. I'm sure they could put some sort of spin on it to make them seem "final fantasy"-esque.

If I could play as a Mandagora I'm sure my head would just explode. Since it's an Akihiko Yoshida game i wouldn't rule out Ivalice races too but I hope it's not something ugly and saggy like Bangaas =(

If I had one wish it would probably be TARUTARU's so I could show lala's how that shorty business is really done.

you know thats something that really hasn't been much classic dwarf characters in the Final Fantasy series a few npcs here and there, but not many dwarf playable characters at least not in the ones i've played.

They can't do moogles, there already in the game but as far males and females for the races that don't have them thats cool unlike FF11 there is no lore stopping them. But as far as it goes with the viera would you want them even if they had to completely change their lore to have both male and females?

i wouldnt mind something original to the game just as SE suggested.

i dont know much about the current lore but what about a race born from the direct aethyrite energy itself. they could have very chrystaline features perhaps.

I originally wanted to be a Viera for this game. That's why I tried to make my character look sort of like a rabbit girl >.<

If female roegadyns look like Merlwyb, I will be very unimpressed. The file I saw, which I no longer have the link to ( ;n; ), she looked very ugly to me. Though I did see a very awesome red vivi-looking gear I wantz now.

For those actually like how she will look in-game, are you guys drinking some good alcohol? Can I haz some? That might help me out a bit.

Personally, I first thought of Pad'jal, Viera, Moogles, and Bangaa. I think all of them would fill a void for us. Pad'jal actually being in the lore, Viera being a more elegant and noble race, Moogles being hopefully even more adorable than lalafells and extremely amusing to watch in combat, and then Bangaa could fill in the reptilian role, for our current lack of scalekin. This being said, I also feel there need to be a male and female gender option for each race we currently have and will in the future.

i read the 1st 6 pages of posts and why would guys want a male miqote, they are small agile and got no muscle to them it to me would look like a midlander wiht fur and a tail.... why not give the guys the Ronso race from FF-X they to me would truely be perfect. make the horn a customize option, scars, and face paint give different fur color and we got us a beastly Ronso i would trade my highlander for this

maybe it's a stupid idea but...
