Six months is still quite a lot of play time and yet it's not enough to gear alt classes. The game was sold upon the promise of multi job support and yet on every turn SE hinders having alternate jobs. This game has been a single "main class" game for its entirety so far. Increasing the Poetic cap to 600 will at least be a step in the right direction.

Only having enough time to afford 2 extra main pieces is a complete joke and given the absolutely horrendous loot system in WoD, the odds of getting an upgrade (unless you can no-life the game and play for 10+hours a day, 7 days a week) are slim to none.

People wanted more Soldiery before and nothing changed other than getting them faster. Same deal here. Live with it.

The fact that some of you blind fanboys don't want to see the game you play improve, as well as make sure the developers stay true to promises made is ridiculous

you gain too much from these new dungeons
just doing roulettes youll hit cap before even coming close to 7th day
cap needs to be raised again

"Multi job support" doesn't mean "every class you have can be i130 with tome gear".

Or the maybe it's the fact that you're oblivious to obvious reasons as to why gear upgrades needs to be paced. Also, what promises are you referring to and please provide a source for said promise.

I don't think we need such a thing now considering how close 3.0 is to release.

We have 2.5 Part 2 release in March (2 months away) which will mark that 3.0 release is near.

Poetic gear now is mostly best given to a Job you main or to a alt to your main anyways. It is not ment to be something that can be given to all your Jobs until they move on to the next Tome update.

The promises they made when selling the game, that the game would have a focus on "multiple classes" which clearly isnt the case, as I already stated multiple times.

I agree that it's too late to really matter with poetics right now, but this is going to be the same thing we see in 3.0.

I don't think anyone has been asking for it to be completely uncapped so that we can gear every job in a month. People just want to be able to gear more than 1.5-2 jobs every 6 months. This game punishes you for wanting to play multiple jobs, and it also punishes you for making alts. Can't really win if you like to play everything. :/

Never did they say that the game would stuff enough tomes in your pocket to have all of your classes geared in the highest current item level gear at any given level cap. That's not what multiple class support means. It does have a focus on multiple classes, but like many other games you have to choose a class to focus on as a main. After that, you can gear a secondary. Or you could just make an alt instead.

Nevermind that this very forum has given good ideas before on how to simultaneously pace upgrades and let us gear more than one to two classes per patch.

Well my best guess is that they may increase the basic tome cap in 3.0 or sometime in 3.X era.

But that is still quite sometime away despite how close 3.0 is.

My hope is they always follow the poetic formula with a weaker alternative like soldiery for secondary jobs. It's an amazing formula and it's the way to go, big praise from me to Yoshi.

He's indicating that the gear that's readily available (i.e. the currency to buy it is uncapped) isn't good enough for him on his alternate classes, so I can only assume he wants to load them down with poetics gear. Soldiery gear is still more than usable, as is High Allagan gear. You don't really need any better gear for anything short of FCoB (and honestly you don't really NEED it for that either, it just makes things a lot easier).

Have to remember that Poetics puts you in gear that is 30 i-levels higher than what... 90% of the current content available in the game (if not more)?

I've always been annoyed with how the cap didn't accommodate 7 days of the once-daily Expert rate of acquisition simply because you were meeting the cap so early by just running one DF once a day. Not because it hindered gear progression... it was just an OCD kind of thing with the math I guess.

But just the same... I finished my BLM in base Ironworks the other night, and I didn't cap every week initially when they came out because of RL stuff getting in the way. So, rate of acquisition isn't as dire as presented here. Granted, I wouldn't mind if it were a bit faster I guess... but it's steady enough against the rate of new content releases I suppose.

The game already focuses on multiple classes. You not liking their approach doesn't mean that they aren't.

If you can gear 3+ classes in one patch, then it's not really pacing.

Oh no, don't up the cap, I have 2 characters (working on 3rd) at level 50 and if they up it I will never cap on any of them. I like how it is now

Yeah but in a few months these tomes will become obsolete anyways. Obviously we have no release date on Heavensward but if they don't at least increase the cap (I'd prefer they just un-cap it) before the expansion it will just become wasted. I mean unless they make Poetics useful for something in Heavensward (e.g. like the new Philosophy Tomes) then they definitely need to let us get more. Not saying we need this now, just a decent amount of time before Heavensward.

Only if they cap Hunts at 600 pre week.
