I don't know about 1.0, but Ferry and airship travel was one of the most boring thing in existence in ff11, sure it fits thematically but that 40 minute boat ride between Selbina and Maruha was tedious as crap. And by appealing to ffxi you are using the same logic as "I only want white mages to be able to teleport to Aetherytes because that's how it was in ffxi"
I think they'll bring in enough to be worth growing. Too many rich and lazy people not willing to spend 3-4 days growing something. They'll just drop 700k for someone to do it for them. Or at least that's what I'm hoping. Keep in mind, most people still use their seals for Sands/Oils and Alexandrite.
i have to wonder ... do the Bs still drop the logs ? on 5 sec respawn timer ? XD
Did B rank ever drop logs? I thought that was only A and S
Still? lol its all brand new to me, I just came back so I am learning all of it atm
About spiritbonding,
It is stated reduced or no gain in spiritbond if level difference too high. But they mentioned "increased" in the example they made.
In french translation it is clearly said that if the level of the gear matches the instance/ open world it will be easier to spiritbond.
Was this said somewhere else because I see no mention of the fruits increasing or decreasing hues, just that it will change depending what you feed it.
I'm not doubting you, like I said earlier Im sick so a lot is just going straight over my head these last few days x_x I'd just like to know where it was said like that, especially since I wanted a white chocobo
I have mixed emotions about the spiritbinding. I admit I spiritbind spinel stuff when doing expert and high level DR. Serves as an additional incentive for me to do them. But I guess I'll have to see effect it has when I spiritbind them on appropriate dungeons.
Dont get me wrong about spiritbinding those stuff on higher level content. I still perform at my best, and most of the time, provide the highest dps output and always get a commendation despite that.
It sounds more like it's less worthwhile because it will sometimes yield rank III materia. They want to push people towards ilvl 90 gear.
For the spiritbonding in dungeons change: there's a difference between turning up in a full ilvl 49 set and expecting a carry (something I've rarely seen) and adding a few spiritbonding accessories on a well-geared character who's still doing their job more than adequately. Unfortunately the vocal complaints about the former have also hit the latter, and with both of these changes we'll see materia prices jump because of a few who were abusing the system.
As for spiritbonding at Urth's Gift: not everyone can do that at once, and it's something you have to spend time doing explicitly rather than taking advantage of something you'll be doing anyway. It's going to get busier, and materia are going to get harder to come by.
It's from the item list in the patch notes. The 6 seeds split into 3 colors, 1 deepening hue and 1 lightening. On an RGB scale, it seems.
For example;
Direct link to new itemsQuote:
A bitter fruit found growing on the Rhotano Sea's Cieldalaes islands. While typically avoided by the five races, it is a favorite amongst chocobos, and is known to lighten the blue hues of their feathers.
This is going to take some serious time to get the color you're looking for.
For those that aren't too familiar with the RGB scale, in order to get a black choco, you'll need to get all 3 colors to their maximum deepness. For a white choco, you'll need to get all 3 colors to their maximum lightness. This is going to take lots of time (6 Earth hours for each fruit to take effect) and lots of fruit (depending on how many fruit it'll take to reach the maximum of each extreme).
It takes 6 hours for the effect to take place... perhaps you can 'stack' the effect? Since it takes one hour for your chocobo to 'rest' before feeding it again, in theory you could feed it the said fruit earlier than six hours if you rapidly need the chocobo to go a certain scale?
This would probably get an undesired shade if going at it blind... but maybe there'll be a 'this x amount' guide at some point.
That's my exact worry as well. Hopefully there isn't like more than 5 "stages" of hue per color. Gotta get seeds, seeds could take a variable amount of time to grow (If they take as long as Thavnairian Onions to grow... haha). Then the actual timer to paint your bird's feathers for each "step" of hue. All of this behind gardening, which is still behind an FC wall.
But leave it to an MMO to make painting a bird's feather's a time sink. huehuehue
It should only take a few people going a few different ways to see how far the shading slider is (for example, if each of R/G/B has 6 "positions" or 9 or 3 or somewhere in between). Wouldn't be surprised to see a comprehensive shader guide within 3 days after the first harvest with a dedicated FC.
Patch seems to be available for download now
It doesn't seem to be 6 hours for it to take effect but it changes every 6 hours depending on the colors used.
This airship building is a good lead into the FC airships down the road. My guess, as stated earlier, is that it will not depend on our existing crafting skills, but instead use a new system that will allow all players to gain access to this content.
That said, it still would be nice if FC airships involved existing crafting skills... cuz I didn't level this stuff to make dyeable gear... lol.
The completionists have all just had brain aneurysms and kicked the bucket... :(
Long maintenance for such a small patch and not much content added.
It would be nice if we got bonuses for having certain crafts. Like someone who has to make the deck has an easier time if they have CRP at 50, or a level 50 WVR would have an easier time making the balloon. Though, it would still be possible for someone with no crafting skill to also help.
Not long now. And then we can all go and find lalas to pet. Except the lalas.
What I found funny was people were complaining about the prices of brooms to clean stable.
I am cool they are gonna make them a good price, brooms in Auction run about 20k-30k
I seen patch notes, broom for 20k junk npc hahaha So much for cheaper. (Sarcastic)
I have to agree with you but would like to add that along with vanity they need to kill the constant ilvl increases and go horizontal we are capped at 50 there is no reason to have all the ilvl increases. They need to make gear last not make it obsolete every few months.
Also materia thing, Way to go prices will skyrocket now.
I am almost done with my shield but damn I might as well go the other route for a while with the time sand and unidentified stone.
Till I can finish my sword.

That seems to be current theorycraft consensus - if you read description for each of the "RGB" foods it darkens / ligthens each primary colour so depending on the "bit resolution" for each colour we should be able to achieve wider range of final colours. Even if you'd be able to go up / down only two steps from the "Middle" for each colour you'll have 5x5x5=125 different colours ...
