This is the case. Hence why you have such a long time to prep for a wedding (licensing, etc.).

Those were the most uninteresting soft-ball questions you could possibly have picked. What on Earth? Where were the questions about the Gold Saucer, Expansion, new races, chocobo breeding? Instead we get hug emotes and minor Quality-of-Life fixes? Those are the kind of things that community reps should reply to forum posts about, not the kind of thing you hold a big live streaming event at E3 to reveal. Sheesh.
Yeah im sure musketeer will be in the expansion. Ninja looks effing amazing to me though!!! Sry for your loss :/
I heard them announce you get a mount for getting married so I will shout in town to find someone to marry just to get the mount.
The pain is real. They just don't understand.
To establish here: the Musketeer's guild is, and has been Coral Tower since the very, very, VERY beginning. Alpha 1.0. The Marauder's guild was moved into the Coral Tower, but the Musketeer's guild is still there too. When I say "still there" I mean the tower is split in half, the left side with burly marauder types and axes strewn about and the right side with pistols and muskets willy nilly, flags everywhere of the musketeer logo, and there is also a giant axe with a bunch of rifles around it right above the front door...... The only thing the musketeer's guild is lacking is a secretary so we can sign up. It's not something just being pulled out of our ass, it's been sitting there waiting to be used for four years.
I blame E3...
All these damn shooting games probably gave SE's PR a brilliant opportunity to be unique and not show something shooter related.

So happy they didn't forget about building airships and roaming primals! T///T
Those things always seemed really cool and interesting.
Now just to find out if the airship crafting will have a restriction regarding the size of the house. Would be the best if there was none and everyone could do it.
Ya the airship thing was curious I do ponder how the workshop will work out. it feels like what they are going to do is create another expansion to the FC that you have to pay for since I"d say with the size of the person compared to the workshop no company house appears to have that kind of basement size atm.
Was hoping they would expand on the utility of airships, while the idea of making/building one is intriguing, not knowing what the potential gameplay aspect of it is a bummer. Though I do feel like airship build/using one will play a role in the expansion.
I think as it's first use however the airship is going to be a means to "drop off" on specific areas anywhere in the zone of areas you have been to before to allow for quicker travel, so instead of having to go to aerethyte and riding mount from there you can just go to location x with no delay.
When it comes to other workshop ideas Magitek and submarines come to mind if they have plans to open up exploration to sea later on.
In reality if they were to do workshops for magitek armor they could use "magitek" armor as a means of "dueling" others through robot fighting action, so that instead of trying to create a 1v1 balance between class/jobs they can just have this 1v1 dueling experience be created through customizable magitek armor that you can augment with different attributes/roles/abilities/traits etc. People would definitely eat up that idea.
I remember running out to my local gamestop in 2010 to buy my collector's copy of XIV so I could get those three (five?) days early access. I started as a fisher, but the very first thing I did was run all over Limsa trying my damndest to figure out how to join the MSK guild.
You know my pain when in the Limsa storyline they even give you a gun in a cutscene.
It's literally been four, real-time years that I and many others have been waiting for this class. To announce only Rogue/Ninja is a slap in the face at best. I'm going to lower my expectations right now and figure that we'll get rogue/ninja before Musketeer, just to really drive home that insult.
Guess I'd better buy my plane ticket now. I've got some tables to flip.
E3 isn't over yet, for all we know they might spring Musketeer on us during the E3 live letter on Thursday. I wouldn't put it past SE to do so. I know I wouldn't want to front load a multiple day long event and blow my load right out of the gate. I am sure there are still a few surprises in store for livestream viewers this week. I certainly wasn't expecting to hear about a Brutal Mode Coil at all. Granted only 5% of the player base may ever clear this difficulty, but it's something else to do for hard core raiders who want a real challenge. Not many developers are willing to even consider that kind of content.
FFXIV needs more glamour costumes badly. I hope they're adding at least 20-30 in 2.3
I also really hope they announce the Lizard people/new race this week, I really want to see them.
pvp in Final Fantasy
Yoshida...are you really listening to the right people? Or the loudest minority?
Frontline PvP is what people wanted more than normal PvP btw. I see Frontline kind of like Ballista was in FFXI and was looking forward to that more, than i was looking for normal PvP ( don't care about 4 vs 4 really, 1 vs 1 would be something tho ). Frontline PvP was announced with the very first Roadmap for ARR, so i don't see what's wrong with releasing it almost 1 year after release, when it was supposed to come WITH release.
Why would they bother ANY pvp...whether frontlines or 1vs1 in FINAL FANTASY ?
Um.. because it's an MMO and some people like to PvP in an MMO. The theme of the MMO doesn't matter (in this case: Final Fantasy).
I'm not even a pvper and I understand the need for PvP (in competitive arenas) in MMOs. I hate open world PvP though, and am glad that is something we will never have in XIV.
It's a Final Fantasy MMO and mmorpgs tend to feature PvP? The other final fantasies didn't have them because, for the most part, they were single player rpgs. This isn't. There isn't some huge precedent of Final Fantasy MMOs not having PvP. In fact, all of them do have it.
FINAL FANTASY XI also had PvP? The Game was not focused on it, or supporting it a lot, but it was still there. For me Ballista and Brenner were really fun to do. Esp. something like Brenner in FFXIV would be fun also. For those who did not play FFXI, Brenner is basically "capture the flag", with some nice features.
How dare Yoshida cater to the entire MMO community, instead of just a subsection that doesn't like PvP. The nerve of the man!
He should have added Musketeer instead, the game needs more ranged DPS, certainly more than it needs something interesting in PvP to help boost the games weakest aspect.
You're aware that's what Frontlines is shaping up to be, right? Unless you mean PvP in the entire open world, then never mind.
if anyone understands Japanese the broadcast from E3 is live now. they might have some goodies in there if anyone wants to drop em on the forums for us later
Frontlines is not Open World pvp, it's instanced. PvP in the open world what what games like Aion, WoW, and ton of other MMORPGs have or have toggles for. ..And yes, it would be in the entire open world, hence the name.
No matter how large the map for Frontlines will be, it's still considered an instance (granted you could argue every zone is an instance, but it's not, not in the same design anyway, as PvP or Dungeons, which are).
