Writer and freelance graphic designer, but for the latter I just bounce back and forth between a number of clients I can count on the fingers of one hand.
Former student/unemployed. Paid my sub off for 6 months. Then when my birthday comes around, I'll pay off another 6 months. There's pretty much no work in my area. Might just go back to school.
A friend of mine used to run a comic shop. She was the black sheep of her family because of it. They felt that she was letting her degree in English go to waste. All she needed was to get her crediting and she could be an English teacher, but she enjoyed running the comic shop. Sure, the pay wasn't great, but she got to set her own hours. Some times she was open longer than the local bars. Especially on Friday nights. Sadly, she had to close the shop for good 'cause AA would move next door & it would affect her sales. And the city wouldn't let her operate her store online/ from home, either, in addition for fining her for them losing record of her business licence. So now she works as regional manager, in charge of delivery, for one of the local newspapers.
Cargo Airport :: Administratif Agent
I handle Freight reservations and instruct people what to load into the different planes that land here.
Stressful job, alot of "in time/ delay" issues (because when there is a delay for a 120tons heavy 747-800 someone's going to have to pay...and it's a lot of money).
Yet it's a rather lively job, you see all kinds of a******s everyday.
Oh ! And you also see : a tremendous variety of animals, sports cars, wtf cars, weapons, dangerous goods, strange looking cargo, etc etc.
Good pay but nasty work hours (shifts) so I'm somewhat doomed never to get a static but that doesn't stop me from doing content with PU.
@OP

I'm currently spaying for my subscription from the money I saved up working at a real estate company as a showing coordinator. It was an interesting job for a then-17-year-old, I would set about a hundred showings for potential buyers to see houses every Saturday and Sunday.
I'm in college now, spent last semester working at the campus tutoring center teaching students my age to do math. I'll be doing the same next semester, hoping to get some experience to become a great future math teacher as well as earn some spending money while I'm at it.

Home hospice RN (nurse)

I'm a man of Action, it's what I do, what I was born to do; it courses through my blood and cells, making me who I am today. Because of that there's only been one job for me to ever perform, one job which would suit a man that I am, not became, but simply am. It involves these two fists and a swift kick, the motivation to keep fighting on no matter the costs, the ability to have foresight and to react to those situations at hand. A job that has purpose, honor, integrity, grit, sweat, strength, endurance, motivation, time warps, back flips, front flips, side flips, and respect.
I am of course talking about providing technical support for one of the top 5 auditing firms in the world.
For the moment, I am a University student.
I also work part time as a caregiver to an elderly lady with advanced Alzheimer's.
~_~ I'm hopping for better work prospects...lol
Loving seeing the diversity of jobs in here!
I'm a secondary school maths teacher.
I really love it on those occasions when some 15yo boys start talking about some video game and I come out with some relevant comment. They're so conditioned to thinking that all gamers must be teen boys, and me being a middle-aged woman... totally blows their mind. So funny when it happens.
process plant operator/ mechanical technician/ general laborer for contract work/ scaffolding tradesman
I am a structural Ironworker. I am the crazy guy you see at the top of buildings and skyscrapers connecting structural steel.
Sadly where I live re-bar has pretty much taken over so now I am a rodbuster. I love my job but hate the work ;)
I sold a kidney.
Ewww...
Currently I'm studying a degree in game design and development via online study with government income support for now. I'm also looking for part time work to help cover expenses though as my student payment only can be stretched so far. But I'm hopeful. :)
During the day I work in the legal profession; patent prosecution to be exact. At night I train martial arts.
Weird thing is, I took my degree in physics.
IT support for Fujitsu in the summer and a snowboard instructor in the winter.
Sysadmin or as the manager likes to put it... IT System Engineer(though I claim no formal engineering title as such). Enjoy what I do and am lucky enough to be one of the rare sysadmins that DOESN'T have a cell phone/pager/etc... or be on call etc... Probably one of the rare people around that feels sorry for the ops guys running the server infrastructure for SE and for felling great respect for them as well at what they do - with I'm assuming some insane deadlines and probably quite a limited budget.
By day, I shove caffeine into peoples mouth-holes. By night, I draw crappy art and people sometimes throw their money at it.
I currently work as a barback, an employee at a grocery store and at a fast food restaurant.
Of the three the barback has got to be the most fun. Dealing with drunk people all the time is quite an interesting thing.
I worked at a small business repairing and building computers in a small town before I moved away, now I provide in home care to disabled and elderly folks. I help them clean, cook, dress, shower, take care of their medicines and so on. :)
One person I care for is a woman in her 50s, she can hardly walk. She -loves- MMOs, Right now she is playing WoW. She gets to run around and fly while meeting a lot of different people. We talk about that a lot and she says it makes her very happy since she can't really do it herself anymore.
It really is surprising who you see playing these games. I didn't even consider that something as simple as running around in open space could be enjoyable until I saw how much she really got into it. Now I like to take my time and enjoy walking around and seeing things in game. x.x;
Yes, this reminds me of how I got started into gaming. I was forced bedridden after an accident (caused by a car accident, oh the irony of doing a moderately dangerous job..) and I really really hated being stuck in my room. That's when my friend introduced me to computers and I discovered FFXI! XD Never letting MMOs go until I die, now!
