The Emote Wishlist

I mentioned this before in a Japanese thread but can we please get these emotes:

There's a lot of married couples who play this game and it would be really great to have. I know there's challenges between races (like a lalafell trying to hold a fem roe lol) but maybe at least make it available between "similar race" if its too difficult to implement cross race.

the ability to /layback, notice how we can't lay back into the lounge chairs on the beaches in Costa or Mist, especially in Mist where the npc starts fanning you ;)

unless I'm missing something I didn't know about... but all i can manage is /sit pose on those things.

and yeah, the F Miquo /sleep/doze or whatever, isn't really sleeping in an FC bed. :p

Why would they have gender restrictions? O.o I didn't play those games but all the emotes in this game are gender free so I don't really see the issue ?_? LIke Isaid the only restriction might be on "race" due to massive height differences between lalas and other races like elezens and roes but I don't see why say 2 male elezens or 2 female miquotes would suffer from a "gender" restriction for any of these.

I would cutely/creepily back-hug both dudes and dames with wild abandon, thank you.

Anyway, my emote wishlist:

- "Well, what is it!?"

- "Praise the Sun!"

c'mon you know you want 'em too.

I want the emote the miqote pirates in limsa do with their axes, with it sideways behind their back and they kind of swing it around, and look menacing. Make that a MRD /changepose exclusive pls!

I just want the facial expression emotes to become Persistent, like /sit :( My character looks so good when /annoyed, I'd like to keep that face all the time. If I wished to have what is now our standard expression, I could just select /straightface to change back!

Some of the idle animations to be less.... static? Standing with my arms crossed, thats fine, but standing with my hands on my head? While being completely stationary? It seems weird... Same for the sitting emotes. Lalafell get a nice emote where they kick their feet back and forth, would be nice to see more of that with the sitting emotes. The crossed leg for one of the emotes could have some persistent motion, and the leaning forward while sitting emote could have us rocking side to side slightly like Lalafells regular /sit.

Other than that I just wish the new /sit idles could be compatible with emotes you can use while sitting. Right now it resets you to the default /sit when you do something like /wave.

i want a "Get Away" emote

far too many times i target myself and the other healer with ignore 1 & 2.
i assume people would know not to crowd healers in Levi Ex.
but no, every time i see a ranged dps not realizing that they are too close to a healer who, if stacked, has to be in a general area to heal.
2 seconds after splashy plumes you see the light bulb over their head and then finally they get away.......

I'd like a /Drinktea emote which would be an alternative to the current (new) Seiza sit.

Well, since we can change various poses....why not various class/race specific walk/run animations?
I'm guessing we're gonna get ninjas soon, so would be cool to run like a ninja, for example.
Miqs could run on all 4.
Roe could rush in like a juggernaut, and kinda headbutt into stuff.
Maybe different poses for how you hold your wep, in combat mode, or even when not in combat. Like, war could hold axe on should-kind-of-thing. Pld could hold a hand on the pommel.

Class specific emotes where you twirl around your weapon(s) like some combat demonstration/training/warm-up. Monk could get some cappoeira kinda of thing, among other.
You could stand around practice dummies with that, and emote-combat them.
/Squat, /push-up, /sit-up, /yoga, /taichi, /work-out (continuous like dance, where you go through random work-outs)
Would be nice to see ppl more alive, rather than just stand around like statues, doing nothing.

Well actually when you chat in LS/FC, you char will do talk emote, would be cool if they added that thing where you hold your hand to your ear, and talk, as passive emote, for chatting in LS/FC.

I really need /sigh for all the fail t5 and primal ex parties I've joined lately. And a /slap would be nice too!

I'd like to see a /victorydance of sorts where we swing our weapons and then pose with them like the old Final Fantasy games! Dragoons could swing their lances around and then place it behind their neck, on the shoulders. Monks could spin their knuckles awesome-like and then sheath them. Black and White Mages could stick their staves in the ground after a flashy action of sorts.

I also would think it'd be cute to have a /ponder type emote. /Beardstroke for the guys /Hairplay for the girls.

It seems lately every emote I go to do isn't on the list. I'm not sure why things like /sigh, /nod, and /poke aren't in there as standard.

believe it or not one of the Hyur F have that dance, I think it's midlander(might be both I dunno since they have different underthings they might have different dances too). which ofcourse made little to no sense to me that they have it and not Miqo'te F

Currently we do not have any plans to add a feature that would allow for persistent expressions.

While it won’t let you keep an expression permanently, if there are times when you just want to keep the expression for a bit longer than usual you can do so by making the following macro (I’ll use smile as an example):

　/smile motion <wait.5>
　/smile motion <wait.5>

Can you make it so there are alternatives to achieving the same emote like in Warcraft? /lol, /haha etc. for the /laugh one. Also /yes gives you a nod but /nod doesn't? PS: Really hope /sigh returns one day, my favorite from FFXI.

I would love /gangnamstyle lol

but seriously though I <3 the dances and would love more, sometimes it would be cool if SE could keep up with trends so we can join in with trends etc

I hope we're getting loads more dances cos i love watching people have dance party's sometimes like when I saw a Limia "mauderville dance" :D

Love this thread...or maybe i hate it! Love the creative ideas everyone has listed, hate that we do not have them yet! :)
I am looking forward to the Firedance, certainly hope the predictions for obtaining it in a future event come true.
+1 for exercise emotes pushups, squats
Warming hands at the fire (/warmhands)
/splash for use like throw, when near water

with the addition of frontlines, some sort of curbstomping type emote would be nice (not that I'll do frontlines, but wouldn't mind the additional emote).

mix of outrage, hunched shoulders and surprised face

Curb stomping is a bit extreme but I'd need a towel if the devs even consider the idea of the Dark Souls come at me bro taunt.

I like the ideal of victory poses depending on what class, if it can be like the ones like in ff12 after fighting a boss that would be awesome and each additional patch add another version till we can make macros out of them. :)

I would like to see modern dances made for emotes.

The dances now are okay but would like to see modern dancing added to the selection.

Example, like a sexy dance or break dancing other than what we have now, which are happy dancing I call it.

I doubt they'd add modern dances considering the theme they're trying to stick to. It would feel too out of place, I guess.

That was already announced to be in the works along with /slap.

I just hope it kind of works like /trade and requires confirmation from the "receiver", because even when it's just text I get kind of annoyed by strangers hugging or slapping me for no reason at all.

Except people bug the game out and run around stuck in /joy motion or /sit motion butt sliding all over the place and SE doesnt seem to mind it...
