This could be and should be implemented on Sony's side updated via firmware and an option in the settings of the console. Since they put KB/M support in the console to begin with.

I'm impressed with the quality of the PS4 beta. But then, I wasn't expecting a $400 console to perform as well as my $2500 PC. Even so, it's got high res graphics and a solid framerate most of the time. It gets a little choppy in crowded areas, but it's tolerable.
If you can't afford a gaming rig, the PS4 comes pretty close. The load times are still atrocious, and there was some confusion about the use of the "pad button" (you have to press the edges, not the center, to switch between HUD elements). Also, It'd be nice if it could detect when Remote Play is being used and give you a more readable interface and true touchscreen support (right now you have to use the screen like a touchpad, dragging the mouse cursor around...it can be awkward).
But these are minor things when you compare this version with the PS3 version. My friends who have up 'til now have only seen the game on the PS3 were amazed.
Didn't read all the posts here.. While I don't think the PS4 version looks as good as some of the other PS4 games (Outlast, BF4 being my personal exp) it's a huge improvement over PS3. It looks and runs a lot better than my PC too, but that's not saying too much (PC runs about 20fps in dungeons @ 1080p, lowest graphic settings.. 10-15 in areas like Revenants Toll)
I grew up playing atari, coleco and nintendo... The graphics are amazing for all systems...
It is a good thing this topic i created has reached 13 pages. The more focus this thread gets, the more attention its topic gets. Therefore, the most likely SE is to both see it and perhaps act on it.
Honestly compared to the PS3 version is looks great. From the looks of it the FPS can vary from 40-50 and the visuals look good. I think they're doing a good job of porting it.
It's the exact same on pc tho, dont worry !Quote:
FPS can drop very easily just by rotating your camera inside a city
I'm actually disappointed in this next gen graphics(so far). 20+ years waiting ,I thought by now games would like like the movie the Enders Game and fully playable

well here is the ps4 specsmy pc Memory GDDR5 8GBmy pc amd a-8 4ghz mem 16gb gddr5 2gb xfx ati oc and the graphis better than ps4 but I hate my desktop it is hard to play on the sofa even with controller I have to have it and keyboard and the ps4 ver is a lot better than ps3 when zoomed in on your char your armor looks pixelated and no detail and have limited player char view and ps4 sharper more deatail and have more player char show on screen but still not the same as if I had pc ver up and btw on my pc looks so sureale and fluidity like as if your in a movie and right there so yes ps4 will be a step down from the most highend but this is me judgeing based on a scaled down ps4 ver for beta test one since the actual clint will be out in phase 2 so basicly your comparing apples to oranges
- Single-chip custom processor
- CPU: low power x86-64 AMD “Jaguar”, 8 cores
- GPU: 1.84 TFLOPS, AMD Radeon™ Graphics Core Next engine
bah anyway, so far we are only in DX9, can't wait to have a true pc version in DX11, that will the time to compare the two and it will be fun that day.
that said, if the game run smoothly, no lag and the control is fine... it's all good, that the most important, no?
This has to be a troll thread.
For one, you don't need a "high end PC" to play this game on max settings. I built a PC and needed everything: case, optical drives, hdd, mobo, cpu, ram, gpu, 24" monitor, keyboard, mouse and it cost me $750. It runs the game on 1080p everything turned on and all the way up at 60fps for anything but Odin, where it drops to 35-40 on occasion depending on how many retards are on screen. If you want to boost the resolution, that's fine and you can build yourself a PC-Elitist machine for 2x as much or more. Good for you.
My opinion of the PS4 version? It looks freaking great. If you look REALLY hard, you can find some places where the graphics are slightly worse than the PC but overall it looks very very similar. Load times are equal to my PC load times, and I'm almost always the first guy to load into a dungeon on the PC.
This is just someone looking to complain because they enjoy doing so. Unfortunately, the world is full of them.
For what you get on the PS4, you should be amazed, not disappointed. It does look quite good for what it is.
Sure, you'll lose some FPS here and there more frequently than a high end PC and the quality won't be quite the same. But without amplification, they're not too far apart.
Comparing the PC version to the PS4 version is beyond silly.
If I were to say, install SweetFX on the PC version, that alone would blow the PS4 version totally away and out of the water.
Then there is the resolution. From 1200P to all the way to 1440P and even 4K resolutions, as well as three/six monitor setups... Yeah, forget it. No console would ever keep up with the way a high end PC evolves.
At the end of the day, remember you only paid 400 USD for that box.
It's not a magic box. It won't magically morph into a high end PC.
The ps4 is just a Midrange System. I respect a lot the people play on console. BUT. There somethings the people console Ignore.
1.- I have Several years using my PC on HDTVS. I dont play in Small monitor No Guys. I play on a 46 Inch HDTV.
2.- Im Using a Wireless Keyboard, Wireless Mouse, Wireless Gamepad and Wireless Diadema. I dont Use "Cables since 4 years ago?
3.- When im playing on PC. I can perfectly play on my Bed or in my Sofa far away from my HDTV.
4.- We have several years using Good quality tools for Stream our videos.
5.- Im Lazy So im only Run windows update each 6 - 8 Months?. i update my Graphic drivers each 3 months, i pass the CCleaner 1 time per Month?. I dont Even using Antivirus or that garbage.
When i want play a Game on PC, i just go steam buy my game. I download that in 15 - 30 mins, install the game and proceed to play. Playing games on Pc is Easy. The Horror stories about play on pc is hard are things of the past. Yes we still having some "Minor" Issues but Nothing a quick google search cant fix in 5 - 15 mins.
The problems we have in the 2013 - 2014, is because we wish increase the game quality, editing the "cfg. Files". Or some problems of optimization on Low End - Medium Systems.
All the technology Console players use Now, is technology has been avaliable on Pc since Uhhhh long time ago.
I have nothing against ps4. i have a PS4 and use that as table for Put up my Whisky Lol. I have ps4 ready for FFXV and another Fantastic games. But i will not play ARR 30 FPS. In my actual PC my average FPS are 80 - 150 +, using sweetFX with effects i love and using a really heavy AA.
The PS4 Version is a good upgrade for ps3 players, low end, medium low Pcs. If you have a Medium, High or Gaming Rig. Play the ps4 is a great downgrade.
not a troll thread.
just a person who set the bar too high and complained when SE didn't deliver.
i don't own a ps4, but i honestly doubt it is as terrible as the OP states, seeing how it will have DX11, and anything is an improvement over the ps3's hardware limitations, it should be better regardless.
not to mention it is a beta, an unfinished product (generally classified as "works, but mostly rough around the edges still"). not to mention the game will still support ps3, which explains the controller functionality.

Bro this game will look tight as a hot lady in 6-12 months. As good as it can be on PS4. It's a beta man. The system just launched. These guys aren't magicians and neither is the PS4 running a TITAN.
I really am sick of reading this you PC players complaining about graphics should just stick to you amazing PC version. It was all on the PS4 BETA forums to. FF14: ARR for the PS4 is an fantastic upgrade from the PS3, PS4 version is a big amazing upgrade.
I come from playing on the PS3 version and i can truly say I am gonna be sad going back to the PS3 version once phase 1 of the beta is finished.
SE have done a great job, I can see so many people all on the screen at the same time with out them randomly appearing in front of me. Its amazing seeing tiny players fighting Fate so fare away from you.
I love the fact that they have tried to give us the same HUD layout that the PC games get. Being able to see ur item grid and inventory grid is amazing. I now know how much space i have and if my gear needs to be fixed with out having to go to the menu and then go to character or Inventory.
I also love the fact that I can see how much Gill I have on my main screen and that can I have a mini version of main menu on screen to which makes it a lot more flexible. Having the track pad as select and a mini mouse is great to.
Once all the bugs are sorted this game will be perfect.
Anyone complaining about any other machine besides a pc not being up to par with a pc is a fool. It's quite obvious the quality would be better on the machine with no "shackles" so to speak, the main thing about consoles is that they are more "convenient" and already optimized to be fully functioning at the best they can possibly run with their given hardware, and as far as PS4 version goes it was a huge step forward from the PS3 version. Which when i tried at my friends house I felt like SE robbed you guys with how terrible it ran and looked.
I'm actually suprised such a simple answer to a ridiculous posted turned into 15 pages of nonsense....oh wait, I'm on the FFXIV forum, carry on.
