Saw Garolt in the caffe once.
I saw Godbert there doing stretches, but haven't seen him since the Gold Saucer launched.
So if I recall, Revenant's Toll starts to grow and expand after the Scions take up residence there in the main story. So how will this work for new players, will Revenant's Toll automatically be bustling from the beginning despite that being contrary to the story? I'm guessing that will be the case, since I don't think this game uses any kind of phasing.
I saw an NPC Carbuncle running around without a master. It would walk around aimlessly and sometimes a dialogue box would come up "<sniff> <sniff>". Been playing for about a year and never noticed this.
After playing FFXI for 10 years, I found it incredible they can turn on certain event tags behind the scenes so each player sees a slightly different town and can interact and even SEE different NPCs that other players can't. So if I talk to a Crystal Brave in Mor Dhona and there's a brand new player next to me, to him, it looks like my character's head is facing a blank wall? Whereas on my screen there's a blue-clad Hyur in front of it?Quote:
The Domans and Crystal Braves aren't there unless you've gotten up to them in the story but the buildings are the same for everyone. I haven't checked to see what is/isn't visible of the expansion content or anything though.
That's Ruby. Her master is a blonde female miqo'te who walks around Rev Toll looking for her. Not sure if those two have been there from the start of 2.0 or not but definitely been there for a long time.
Actually, what we see of others' heads facing NPC's reflects what we see of the NPC's on our own screen. This is demonstrated when an NPC sits waiting for you and someone else is already talking to them. You'll see them looking down at the NPC until it stands up to talk to you and they'll look up when you do. If your head automatically turns to look at an NPC not present on the other's screen, they probably won't see that. I think that's how it works from my own observations anyhow.
They've removed the tree by the tent!

Sorry to necro this, but a new shot of old 2.0 MD popped on Reddit.

I've noticed you can find the various Doman Adventurer's Guild members hidden around the Toll, I'm betting that it's gonna be a story thats updated each patch.

Were those banners always there?
Quick! Someone confirm!
I take these new banners to be a sign that an adventurers' guild is forming at the stones in the absense of the Scions.
I would guess either the sign of the adventurers guild or pherhaps an emblem for Mor Dhona? I can't remember whether I have seen it before or not.
Another minor change I noticed is that the merchant en mender have been relocated. Their place has been taken by the NPCs that handle collectors items and scrip exchange. Will post screenshots at a later date. And I assume Rowena is now gone from the House of Splendors, unless she travels back and forth every time I do :P
She's in Mor Dhona and Idylshire at the same time.
There's a number of game-related reasons why she's at both, too. She's used in a number of quests (including the Relic Weapons and one of the latest Alchemy quests) in Revenant's Toll, and while I haven't tested, I doubt you could continue those quests with her Idyllshire representation instead. She also has completely different dialogue in both places, and in fact you can only challenge her to Triple Triad in Revenant's Toll and not in Idyllshire.
I think before you beat the MSQ she also complains about how annoying it is to travel between the two.
the stair way when u go to rowena ,that was added
So, 3.1 did bring another small change...

I've just realised, Rowena will probably use that to travel between Idyllshire and Revenant's Toll, lol.
Also of note, the merchant in the pic now sells igloos
