Why do birds float? Petition to exterminate floating birds.

Well if you love unrealistic & floating birds so much then why don't you just marry one?

The birds don't float they fly close to the ground floating is different from flying. You clearly see them flapping their wings do you just want them higher in the air? Or want them to land time to time cause i don't see no birds floating.

Go watch a bird flying IRL and then go look at a bird in FFXIV.

Hint: One is flying and the other one is floating.

You obviously don't know what floating cause you cant float in the air the Mobs flap their wings. they used the same birds from xi those didn't float either they just hover in place which is still flying in a sense. because helicopters can hover and still maintain flight.

So i will ask you one more time what do you want the birds to do. Resting on the ground then fly again after a while? Or do you just want them flying really high in the sky and flying everywhere?

Um, flapping once every minute doesn't make you fly. Flapping once every minute and somehow staying above ground level means you are floating.

The birds aren't even anatomically positioned correctly to perform during flight, to say nothing of the minimal effort they put into the task. How they manage to stay in the air is anyone's guess. May I ask if you have ever actually seen a bird before? To anyone with foundational understanding of reality, it is quite clear that these birds are floating unrealistically.

And if you have to ask what I want in order to make the birds more realistic then I think I have finally found the crux of your problem. Obviously you don't know what a bird looks like.

I know what a bird looks like and the buzzard i just warped to look at is Hovering there flapping its wings 2 times per second it is not floating i am just starting to think you are trolling to just be trolling.

If you have to ask me I don't think you what floating is cause floating is what fish do in water when they die. These birds are Hovering in one spot till they decide to move which is Hovering.

again, i don't get why everyone jumps on the troll bandwagon in every thread. this is a legit issue.
IF OTHER GAMES HAVE MORE DYNAMIC MOBS (EX. REALISTIC BIRDS) THEN FFXIV IS OUTDATED AND UNCOMPETITIVE IN THAT AREA

It may not be the most important issue to consider at the moment, but its something that should be taken into consideration for the first expansion.

In this picture you can see eagles flying around, sitting on a bone from a large carcas, taking off, etc, etc. Nothing wrong with that. There is also nothing wrong with suggesting that SE should implement this type of feature as well (although going as far as removing the birds from the game because they float is a tad extreme (^_^ ) ).

We all know that SE will not implement this any time soon, even if they implement it at all. The moderators even read these threads and forward our suggestions to the devs. I don't mind seeing floating birds in a game (i've seen wierder animals in games (^_^ ) ), but on the other hand, i'm interested to hear what Bayohne, Rukkurri and Hvinire think about this.

Who knows... It never hurts to try.

Birds float because they have wind crystals to assist their hovering capabilities.

Well I don't WANT SE to delete them. But I think they SHOULD delete them if they cant make them more realistic and befitting of the game world.
