I think, the way DF works now is just as time consuming as LFG. Only thing is, this enables cross-server access to the FFcommunity. If someone's a dick and deserves to be kicked, let us kick him/her.
Now, if someone is kicked by discrimination but unjustly, I think the party would have something to say about it. We have good manners enough to discuss it first to save time. No need for sophisticated systems such as the MVP.

TEXT commands work just as easy to vote like it did in FFxi.

As long as you don't get the 15-minute penalty from 1st abandonment by being kicked... Otherwise failed attempts DF attempts would kick someone just to keep themselves from getting hit with the penalty (note this applies to not-full-premades only).

I understand there is a good deal of reasons why people afk in a dungeon, most are just people wanting to leech. When it comes to answering the phone/door, going to the restroom, or grabbing a drink I see no reason to kick people. On the other hand if IRL emergencies need to be taken care of, and it's that important being kicked from group should be your last concern. Get your priorities straight: RL > Game!

Granted vote to kick can be a double edged sword but there's more valid reasons to implement it than not to. If majority of a party doesn't want someone there for whatever reason then it's probably best they aren't there. There aren't enough GMs to regulate the behavior in DF groups, so it should be left for the group to decide in a vote than just let the individual leech.

My question: When is SE gonna take the kid gloves off and either start cracking down on this behavior with GM service and bans or let the players in the group vote for themselves?

The 15 minute penalty doesn't really work well,

For example in titan ive seen tanks and healers simply stop trying because they want people to leave when they actually want to leave as well.

There'll never be a completely fool-proof system for this. Someone could just as easily run around agroing everything, pulling wrong mobs and totally griefing the whole party, and there's nothing anyone can do about it. Unfortunately, that's just something you occasionally have to deal with in this type of game. At least an auto-kick for afk people is something.

At first I felt bad, but then I was like well you're doing this to yourself. I wish they'd take tome rewards away from those fights, but I realize that no one would queue for them after so that's not a viable option. We've been clearing WP in under 20 mins, got it down to 17 last night, makes getting one piece of DL a day for my secondary a piece of cake.

To those saying they have no LS/FC well, you're only gimping yourself. I'm willing to bet your server just like mine (balmung) has a plethora of "casual" LS/FC's that you could join, find a few new buddies and run some content.


Do I feel bad you are getting afker's in your dungeons? Sure that sucks that people do crap like this. Do I feel bad if you don't learn from your mistakes? Not in the slightest.

Kick is fine if the dungeon finder / duty finer has a better replacement system so that once a single person leaves, everyone doesn't automatically expect the thing to fall part due to how bad the design is.

The tick box for 'join in progress' maybe could be ticked by default? No other MMO I played seems to have this problem of 1 person screwing so many others over royaly.

Though the reward by participation is very good for DPS, it lacks with tanks and healers.

IE - I'm a healer, the tank just happens to be decked. Relic+1, AF2, Coil gear, and I have to do very little healing. Does this mean that since I did little participation that I should be kicked or receive less reward/tomes? I was there the whole time. I kept the tank(s) alive. Why should I be penalized for having a very good tank?

IE2 - I'm an Off-Tank. This dungeon has little to no fights that really need an OT. Again, I did my job, why should I be penalized? (I know you can get around this one by making your own group, just go with it for argument's sake and Duty Finder)

In view of abusing the Vote-To-Kick, in WoW you were unable to kick after the dungeon was completed. I came across little abuse of the VTK feature through the many years I played. I did, however, use it often to get rid of trolls, AFKers, and people who would join a group for the purpose of causing trouble.

The one negative that a vote-to-kick option would have is: Say if you PUG into an almost full guild group via Duty Finder, after you down the last boss (for example, or could be any boss, for that matter really) that guild vote kicks you so they have a better chance of getting gear for their members -- and you are left with little or nothing at all. They could just repeatedly spam this during a full raid, totally abusing DPS (since they are a dime-a-dozen), on every boss: Just PUG to clear, then kick before click on the shiny. Not sure if this game has looting ranks/rules/roles that would have certain members to be entitled to gear while precluding others.

Other than that, vote-to-kick is a great mechanism to allow players to police themselves.

Hence why I only run AK or WP mainly now. AFKers just killed CM for my friends and I. I even liked this quest too a lot.

i think they should do like wow implement a voting system fixes everything (except noobish FC who will kick someone to get someone from there FC in) but all in all will be fixed lol

First of all .. What on earth are you saying? none of that makes sense. Secondly everyone can purchase a gun it's not illegal. But I digress there are flaws with EVERY system for anything but V2K is the best option as proved by other MMO's that have been very successful. WoW to name one and I know "But this isn't WoW blah, blah" I know but it is a very successful MMO so that is why I used it.
