anyway in today mmorpgs , FULL support classes like BRD in FFXI arent what ppl want , only a 1-2% of players want to play that kind of support classes.

same goes for the "enchanter" , a class with ccs , debuffs , silences , and the like , are awesome in Dungeons but in raids are worthless , since raid bosses cant be stuned or CCed.

I support the idea of "combos" for more utility ballad + X skill for an added effect

why can't games have that 1-2% class? Just dont make them where you NEED em, but super useful if you have em in your party.

I remember my bard in XI. I loved the support aspect cause even though I was not doing damage per say, my songs were causing insane things to happen with my team. The Bard exp runs were fun as hell with the chain half a million. lol. Making one in here I ran around and got a little down. I am a Ranger with abilities that I don't really need to use. When I was buffing MP in one dungeon run the people were amazed that I was doing that. ??? Why amazed? Like one person said in the thread, Bards don't do that apparently because it lowers DPS. Miss the support aspect of a bard and kind of sad that I can actually tank a dungeon boss if things go way south (It was amazing, but sad none the less).

I wonder if they will make a new class to make an actual bard or a singing job?

Because if you dont NEED them, then no one will bring them. Remember how many classes in XI were just not used in any serious context? That's no fun for anyone.

There was use with every class in ffxi just had to utilize each of there strengths and bard in ffxi was one of the most useful jobs but you didn't need it. People just wen with the most efficiant as they do with any game, though I'm not that type of person I like to play what I play dispite what others want and still do all the content just fine. Example: I was a Thf/War, never subbed ninja.

hahaha yeah sure ppl didnt need bards.... i remember nights events cancelled because we just lacked support jobs.

Not gonna happen. The time and effort they'd have to invest in completely revamping BRD can be spent on implementing a new support job. Plus, plenty would be pissed cause their main job changed so drastically. Myself included.

Wow, some guy in this topic thinks FFXIV's BRD is original? What is your MMORPG history? FFXI?

Rift's Bard would have been way better.

Least the buffs made cool music when you chained them.
