If you don't like the pace of the patches or the game itself I suggest leaving. Not saying GTFO but logically, why are you spending your time (that you'll never get back) on a forum or in a game you don't like? Find something you enjoy go do that. If you actually have hope for the game then take a break and come back. If you have no hope see above.
That being said, they're working on it. We've received more updates for this game since Yoshida's been around than I've seen for some games in a year. The progress is steady, not slow you're just all impatient. If they didn't have to rework the original team's giant mess maybe we'd be further along by now. I feel there have been more than just "a few minor changes" but you're right none of it really gameplay altering but when is it in most games? We know the coming patches are indeed gameplay altering, they're reworking the combat aspect of the game and all things related to it.
The game's not perfect but it's what I personally enjoy playing. I got bored with it at launch but when I came back a few months ago it was like a completely different experience and it's only been getting better. I'm having a blast, I can appreciate the game for what it is. I have hope for the game, I like the direction it's going in and I am looking forward to it all.
Yeah because your last prediction of April 19th really decimated this community. /sarcasm
He needs pressure. He has not kept his promisses... where's the bi-monthly patches? We are lucky if we get one. Where's the "i will keep you guys more informed and get more frequent updates"?
If bringing us real content faster means rushing something out then he needs to make it clear to higher management and request more staff and or money.
So, whatever happened to those cakes, pirate ship attacks, and new hairstyles?
This is what i dont understand (hey Alexia btw :) )
Why can't they say more about what they are goin to do, be more exact. I'm sure they know what they are goin to do.
Most stuff must be in the final stages if they want it live in mid-june.
So many posts leave us with more questions then answers... this would be ok, if we played an already 2-3 years old, good running, populated mmo and they tease us with something while we enjoy what we currently have... but thats not the case.
But well, perhaps its the best to just play something else until the end of the year or even longer (looking forward to witcher 2 :D, skyrim, deus ex,...) and look at the game after ps3 launch and see if things changed by then.
But the ps3 launch will not save ffxiv at all. If the pc community isnt happy with the game (at least 80% of them) then the ps3 users won't be either, its not like jp players enjoy the current game (which is the console majority if im not wrong).
You can give positive pressure though. It doesn't have to be waving possible negative consequences in from of his face. That creates the wrong type of stress, the type that screws everything up.
And your bi-monthly patches took a heavy hit from sickness and the earthquake. But whatever the case, I'd rather the content be complete rather than have it on time.
I completely agree about the lack of information though.
You couldn't be more right. If i don't like a game i usually don't play it anymore, it is that simple. But it's different with FFXIV. I had very high hopes for this game. SE teased it as the next great MMO and it will only be 2nd to WOW. But instead we got a game that is inferior to almost every single popular mmo out there.
SE recognized that and apologized for it.... they even gave us free play time. They changed the dev team and producer and made a shit load of promises that gave us even more hope then before the game was ever released. Now they don't look like they can keep that many promises and people are losing all hope.

I forget when he made that promise but he's kept it the past 2 months. Argue all you want about the size or original intent but there are indeed two patches per month for the last 2.
Also the post your e referring to does make a good point. Why would you want to rush him further when rushing this game out was the reason it sucked in the first place? I'm perfectly fine with them taking their time and making sure it's good. Yoshida has said multiple times on multiple topics that he doesn't want to put anything in the game without sufficient reason or purpose.
