Square Enix - This is You and you Need to Respond to Us
I am very happy to see this thread started. I was very excited to have this game, even though I had to wait to purchase it due to the suspension of sales. Now I cannot play the game. So first, lets look at some facts:
ISP Provider: Time Warner Cable
Speed Check Preformed: Yes and no throttling found
Problems with other games: WoW: NO, DCU: NO.
Gamers in house using same internet connection: 3
Gamers playing at the same time: 3
Platforms Used: PC and PS3
FFXIV Problem: Lag time playing, constant; kicked off serve with code 90000, constant.
Problems with multiple players at home on at same time, excluding FFXIV usage: 0
Problems with FFXIV while playing alone: constant
Problems with FFXIV with multiple people online at home: constant
Problems with FFXIV with multiple MMO's running at home: constant
Other MMO's experiencing problems at home while multiple MMO's running: WoW: No; DCU: NO
Isolated Case: NO, found in multiple country's, most US ISP.
Unsuccessful Resolutions tried: Turned of Firewall, stopped unessential applications, tried wireless alone, tried LAN alone, tried both LAN and wireless both at the same time, changed graphics settings, changed audio settings.
This is enough information that provides a clear picture for the "Powers That Be" that Square Enix was not prepared for this role out, nor did they have any type of contingency plan in case it did occur. Both WoW vanilla and DCU had these problems, and they were resolved in 2-3 days max by stopping the game entirely, fixing and adding servers, and then compensating (even trial users) the time for the trouble. Most importantly, they responded to their forums to let everyone know they were listening, aware of the problem, what it would take to fix the problem, and, most importantly, they were sorry for the problem.
I want to play this game. I have played every FF from VII on, excluding FFXI. Please, listen to us, respond to us, and take some ownership for the problem.
I, like the originator of this thread, will not pay for this game, and may even request a refund of the purchase of the game, if this problem is not resolved.
