People being upset about other people not being geared aside it is pretty bad.

Garuda isn't hard. But you aren't half as good as you think you are.
Here is the difference between the OP and you. The OP never claimed to be more skilled than anyone else. You on the other hand seem to pretend that you are despite your gear and your FC carrying you just as hard.
What's wrong with not wanting to carry other people? I believe in people pulling their own weight, if their skill can make up for their lack of gear then great. But there are plenty of times in which skill does not make up for crap gear. In those instances why is it bad to tell someone they need that crutch.
Also from what I've been reading people are saying that you can do whatever instance with less than stellar gear as long as other people are optimally equipped. Not everyone said that, but that seems to be the general consensus on not only this thread but many others. What you're basically implying is that, You as an individual can do it because you might A) have the skill to, or B) are getting carried by others that actually spent the time to gear properly.
That's like going to war with a bow and arrow against guns. Yes technically you can win with a bow and arrow, like in the battle of wounded knee, but history has shown over and over again that superior gear leads to an advantage regardless of skills. Otherwise we'd still have people using bow and arrows or samurai swords to fight wars. Don't wanna rain on your parades, but watch tom cruise and friends get owned in the last samurai. Kinda explains all you need to know. Same principle in the game.
The OP isn't being elitist, which isn't actually a bad term to be labeled. It's only when people are average/mediocre do they find offense. It's like the whole 1% thing. I guarantee you that anyone in the top 1% isn't complaining about being "too rich". It's only the poorer people who find it to be such a travesty.
I'm not 50 yet, but I plan on making sure that I have the majority of the gear that will allow me to compete at that level as well as carry my own weight. I have no problem being an elitist because I work a 9-5 job, I don't want to come home and have to work some more to carry crappy players because they're too lazy or feel too entitled to do the things necessary for them to play at their peak level.
I haven't bothered with endgame items yet, but that bit about endgame gear was... really helpful actually.
Thanks for letting me know! ;)
OP has no credibility without actually trying the fight with his LS mate first to determine if the gear is necessary. Based on responses, it is not. Therefore I dub this newly minted logical fallacy "elitism by false assumption".
Edit: I take it back, this isn't new. In XI I faced so many battles getting people just to TRY something just for shiggles like all pet sky god kills at 75, using BSTs in Divine might at 75, only to get responses like "It can't be done." But what about this? "It can't be done."
Then we go do it. Crazy how that works out when you have some balls.
Really the worst kind of elitism if you ask me, can't even be bothered to try.
What I got from this post: Run wanderer's palace before trying the hard stuff. This is absolutely correct. Everyone I play with put the work into WP before advancing into AK and HM garuda +. It may not be needed but it sure helps and all you have to do as a player is put in the proper time. Ilvl restrictions will be a blessing, and I was actually against them at first. Don't know why the community jumped on the OP for trying to help the new level 50's.
