This Bard stacking thing needs to be dealt with

smn has more DoTs, auto attacks through pets and has a strong burst ability called Fester. I am pretty sure bards arent beating smns. As for BLMs? their fires hit like a truck and has DoTs. Bards are good dps but they are not beating blm or smn lol.

That "strong burst ability" is basically a 7.5 second cast time on 3 charges every 10 secs every minute. So it's not actually burst.

Instead of your novice attempt at theory crafting, there exists something in the world called DPS parsers. And according to those, they ARE beating blm & smn... lol?

Aren't parsers currently broken and cannot be trusted?

Pretty sure bards were also at the lower end of that. Whether it's trusted or not, number wise, just check all the damn skills. Our weapon damage is the lowest of all classes plus we have the lowest potency attacks. Wake up people. It's not hard to see.

So have most melee DD switched to bard over the last week? If you have carpenter leveled and want to become rich start making bows. I also decided to start playing bard and have been watching the market for the longarms composite bow. They are selling like hotcakes on hyperion and the price just keeps increasing. Wish I had bought one last week for a 1/4 of the price. Seems a sure sign to me that there are a ton of level 50 bards out there right now.

It seems to be the flavor of the month right now and has me worried to gear mine up. Because SE wont fix this correctly and make melee better. They will just nerf the hell out of bard. Same thing happened in 1.0 when darkhold released. If you werent a tank healer or archer then you werent getting in a party. So SE nerfed archer instead of giving a reason to play melee.

Tldr; Bard nerf incoming!

He's talking about the setup time required. When you want burst, it's generally because you want to kill something quickly (i.e. gaols), in which case Fester doesn't have enough time.
