DPS Class Popularity

So far, I've seen many Black Mages, Summoners and Bards (so these are probably the more popular classes on the world I play~)

As for Dragoons and Monks, not as many as the above but still more Dragoons than Monks @@

On Moogle it seems like Archers and Thaums are popular, or at least popular as alts, and I've grouped with Monks more than Summoners. My level-50 friends talk as if they see many Dragoons in end-game often, but I've seen exactly 1 in lower dungeons.

Why should a range class that has no cast time, require no positioning and is suppose to be support the highest dps?

i cant believe that the class with less restrictions that can be doing the 100 % of their dps on move be the best dps on a tank and spank fight.
if u tell me that on a heavy movement fight bards are the best i dont mind.the problem is when bards are the best dps on every situation.
Hunter on wow have the same movility and are 20 % behind to every dps spec on a tank and spank fight due to this.
Fanboys of bards can cry all that they want but the reality is that bards are the best dps on every situation right now and have the best support skill(only sumoner have the same with the revive)so they need a nerf to the dps or to their movility.

Can't help it. But Monks look awfull. Their Artifact-Armor is super ugly and their fist-weapons even worse. They would be so cool to play but they really have a style-problem.

That's been said, I can confirm too that on my Server Monks are the fewest. However, I have quite often a BLM in my groups these days.
