I also predict that the Job system makes the Class System redundant as every class will begin to funnel people into specific jobs. For example, there will be no option to play a Thaumaturge-Paladin. It will be Gladiator-Paladin only. Which in other words means it will be Paladin-Paladin only. Which means there will be no Gladiator anymore. Everything about the original armory system will be made redundant.

To be more specific, this is what the FFXI vets that were all-in on FFXIV demanded.. long after FFXIV's 600,000 other players left.

Which is sad, because they should go back to XI and not try to make this XI-2. /nod

I dunno, maybe for the new dungeons and other end-game type stuff. I'll still want the class system's mix & match for other stuff.

As much as I appreciate the work that Yoshi is putting into FFXIV, imo it will not be able to be competitive as a top tier mmo without a significant game design & story overhaul which can only be achieved with the release of a thorough expansion likened to Lord of Destruction for D2 and WOTLK for WOW.

WOW will continue to be the dominant force in the mmorpg market, until D3 is released (likely sometime early next year)

By that time GW2 will have also surpassed FFXIV vanilla in gamer-base. FFXIV will likely be a passable mmorpg with smoothed out game mechanics around winter 2011, but will lack the depth needed to attract loyal players with strong competition from other developers.

Ya cause this game definitely needs more people leaving. I'm sure 500,000 people left this game for other reasons because god knows the armory system really makes you feel important in this game. Not to mention the plethora of other problems that drove people away, i mean you might aswell just tell another chunk to leave what would it hurt?

Over 2.5 million people played FFXI at it's peak, >30k people play this game. Do you honestly not see anything wrong with this?
