Account got hacked yesterday

Query 1 : How did they know you had "lots" of gil (you didn't though, 2m gil is peanuts on a Legacy server)

You didn't play rift at launch then. they had an issue with their security token system that allowed people to log into random players account by randomizing the key generated for each player. This allowed them to log into an account without needing a password.
Check the rift posting history, the player "Manwitdaplan" discovered this loop hole and trion took down the rift server on a friday evening to implement the fix, it still took over a week to restore all the account affected by this.
99% of the time it's the players fault they got hacked, but this one instance in Rift it was not.

1. Warn others
2. See if anyone know the Answer,does SE recovery player account or not if their account got hacked.

He could have earned 20mil with low levels. I was fishing and grabbing up those difficult to find pieces that bound materia to gear, when no one knew where to get it or the logic of it. I made a fortune, and my fishing was only in the 30's. Since a lot of them were well below my level i didn't get xp or got very little xp for it, and farmed the crap out of it to slowly release to the public for a great deal of gil.

Yesterday, he logged in and all his gil was gone. He contacted support but he hasn't gotten a clear answer yet. Will let you know if he does.

I'm sure if you call them (if you can get a hold of them) they can probably look into it by tracking IP addresses that your account was logged in from, probably take them weeks to months though. Sorry you got hacked, definitely not a great feeling.

It's not being called up tight, ever heard of crying wolf? If you start a topic stating you got hacked and warn people but provided nothing, you're basically trying to scare people, hence why I asked what all he did to see if there is something going around.

Even if he WAS simply trying to scare people (which in my opinion is just retarded in this case) what harm would it have done? Making people activate their one time passwords? That's a good thing isn't it? You should sit and think things through before blindly throwing out accusations.

Why should SE recover anyones gil when it was their lazy or ignorant computer habits that got them hacked in the first place.
