I agree. What we have is what we can play. The pipe-dreams of SE do sound nice but we can't really know if they make the game good or not until we see them. The fact that none of that stuff is yet in the game makes me wonder how long we have to wait to see something substantial.

Not even going to bother reading the review, as I'm pretty sure everyone involved in this site (or at least those who read things) realise that very few of the actual changes that are coming have yet happened at all. As I've said a couple times before, I think it would have been the easy option for them just to shut the servers down then reactivate them down the road, but they gambled that people would be able to understand that things take time - not that they haven't been told that over and over and over again, even by Yoshi-P.

This same foolishness is seen before expansions in World of Warcraft, where they basically obliterate the game with changes intended for the new max level (to the point where a review at the time would probably be scathing) which effectively makes everything trivial - the complaints that it has 'ruined the game' etc are astounding, as they don't seem to realise the intended purpose, particular before the Cataclysm where basically all the quests etc changed following the change in general mechanics.

These forums are a great feature, however, as with basically all forums, I am tired of the peddling of doom and gloom - if you aren't happy with the current state of the game, then leave - or give good feedback. It isn't currently costing you anything, and they don't intend to charge until the game is at a state that THEY think is acceptable to charge for. Yes, you paid the box charge for the game, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who has got way, way more than my £40 out of it (Bought the CE) even in this 'state' as people put it. Once all the changes etc have been put in place, come back, try it out.

If it isn't for your tastes at that point, then all is well, if it is, all is well. But this consistent kicking of a game that has been accepted far and wide to be unfinished and is undergoing large, sweeping changes - away from the original plan it would seem to a great extent, is unncessary, causes major friction between the community and leads to folks like myself just about giving up hope on people.

Personally I feel the reviewer (for doing the review at all) either isn't a member of the community and just wants to get a dig in, or is just completely underinformed and doesn't realise that the game hasn't fully been changed yet. This wouldn't surprise me, as the amount of folk shouting their mouths with blatant false information about things that have been either confirmed or information given about on these forums is quite impressive.

Anyway, thats just some stuff I had to get off my chest. Have a good day folks.

Yes. My comment was as to how you figured 'at this rate' it takes them 5 years to fix the game, when you don't even know what 'this rate' is before all the content they have been working on is implemented.

At this point it's not even some blind hope that all the fixes we have gotten so far does not create the big picture, and there is more left in store. It has been officially stated.

and at this rate refers to in 6 months we have had nm's nerfed, party sizes dropped from 15 to 8, wards tweaked a little, sp increased, behests dropped from 1hour to 30 min, bigger animations on spells, sidequests added, a few new low level nm's, and a few other minor things. i made the 5 year statement as in we do not know when the major fixes will come because we do not know a time table. they may be next month or next year or 5 years from now as far as that goes.

all i was saying is this person gave a review of the game at this point, which is 6 months after release, with what they seen so far added and fixed in the game. next month the review may have completely changed with massive updates, but they cannot review that additions until they have been added to the game. i don't know then the changes will come anymore than you do so alot of the changes may take a month and then again they may take years to get to them. that is something we will just have to wait and see.

We do know the timetable. The timetable is essentially "the major rehauls come in two parts, with the first battle rehaul arriving in Spring and the second one a few months later". There's not much of Spring left, which is why they might as well waited a couple more weeks. I can see how they didn't know of SE's plans though, and if they did they probably would have waited, so too bad.

and it was also stated the new content would come after the overhaul and balancing of the new system. is the system going to be perfect when it is first implemented? no, i doubt it will be and have to take months of rebalancing of them then the next part and more rebalancing.

that is what i was refering to on a timetable of when they get everything implemented and everything balanced out to make it work properly, be enjoyable, and give an honest review of the additions. that timetable could be a long way from the few months after spring. with the way stuff has been added i would be almost willing to bet it will be.

the group could prove me wrong and that i truly hope happens. i enjoy the game which i play alot, but would love to see all these grand things put in place not just a few minor things here and there that some work well and others are horrible.

No, the content is coming along with the first part of the overhaul, as well as afterwards. The point is, though, to show them that things are getting done. It also shows a better view of what the game is going to be like, even if it requires a lot of rebalancing still at the time of the re-review. It would be better, even, to state that things look like they're "work in progress" (which they are) and as such they are going to make a re-re-review once everything has been established.

That would have made more sense to me, frankly. Right now people are getting the wrong idea when they see that "not much has been done" when in-fact the first overhaul is only few weeks away.

that part i do agree with. the review should have stated that there were more upcoming changes and they would give another review after they were implemented. the problem is there if when the stuff is sub-par on initial implementation then the review would read they added a bunch of new stuff and this or that is horrible. they should have just ended this game is still a work in progress, but it is progressing slowly and they would write a new review once more major improvements in the game were added and adjusted.

And yea, I agree... that's like tasting the chicken when it's half done....

Overall 72%? They're kidding right?

Graphics - 96% - The engine is really bad optimized, There are better graphics MMO coming out, there are less HW demanding I should give 80% max

Sound - 60% - OK

Gameplay - 70% > 72% - Really 70%? Guildleves and zergbehest? The worst UI ever made? (FF1 8 bit got a better and responsive UI) Delay betwen active passive, lag ecc? Lack of any type of content, Lack of transportation, NM killable whitout any tactics... 20% is even too much

Control - 65% > 70% - Come on.... if this game got 70% on control side others MMO should got 100000%

Story - 60% > 62% - The story is not even complete, we've got 6 storyline quest...

Overall - 70% > 72% - Overall is still one of the worst MMO ever made like it were on september 2010, 30%

Like I said, a re-review made from fanboys.
