It's a product and a service. Yes, it's in the form of a game, but people who did pay for the game to play it at that time of purchase are justified in their frustration. Despite having 30 days free with purchase, it doesn't change the fact that these issues are causing loyal players a bit of grief. Even free to play games take this stuff a bit more seriously.
Now, do people deserve an entire 30 days free on top of what's been given? No, probably not. SE made a good call with the week compensation, but to blow off everyone's concern because it's "just a game" is a bit narrow minded. Fact is, people DID pay for the game, people ARE waiting for it, and people ARE entitled to be able to play when it is ADVERTISED that they would be able to.
That being said, it's still the beginning and we all do just need to bear with it.
My biggest frustration is trying to understand how they can have two launches, FOR THE SAME GAME, be a complete and utter failure. I've played very rocky launches before, but not to the extent where you can't log in for over a week. Now i'm not saying I want a refund, the changes they've made to the game are great, it's enjoyable. I''m just a very patient person, unfortunately, most people aren't. I hope people decide to stay but I expect them to lose A LOT of players after the first free month expires.
Well news flash, it's no longer a service I'm paying for. It's a scam. And I'm not ashamed to call it a scam. Make a game which has an expert difficulty registration page and a support staff who proudly denies all claims the problem lies with their side.
I don't really know where to begin with this one. My other post should point out the fallacies in your statement.
The summarize though, it's not a gift. It is part of the initial product and is only offered for marketing purposes. It is a promise made to the consumer upon purchase of the game that said consumer will be given 30 days of access to the game, prior to the requirement of additional payments for continued use. The ToS that accompanies this game does allow for the game to be inaccessible for certain periods of time; however, this clause will only support a few hours or a couple of days. No court in the US will side with the company if the products cannot be accessed for over a week. This time frame includes early access, as this was also part of the promise made to the consumer upon pre-order of the product.
By giving players an extra 7 days, SE is making efforts to avoid legal action. It is not accepting responsibility for the problems that have occurred this past week.
No. No free days. So it takes us longer to get veteran rewards? No thanks. How about a title like "Codebreaker" or "Error Refugee"? Or maybe a pet OK button that repeatedly clicks itself when you walk? Something we can show for going through this crap. I can afford time.
I want a pizza as compensation
