Yoshi-P's heartfelt speech.

It really makes me proud to be a part of Final Fantasy. I think that Yoshi is being true when he says he always loved Final Fantasy. I have to admit, this video made me cry with him. I have stood by Final Fantasy all these years, and I'll continue to do so! Hang in there Yoshi and development team, the tears you cry, are tears of joy because you have delivered a remarkable game in an amazing short period of time!

people who don't care probably have never been a project leader or event organizer or leading anything.
It's hear-wrenching when you spend pretty much all your time on one project and things turn bad regardless of the effort you have put into it
I am pretty sure all the staff is overwhelmed right now and I hope they can find way to fix up all this so they can get some well-deserve time off after that

Most moving video I've seen in a while... This is why I choose FFXIV over other MMO's. I have never, ever seen someone so passionate for their product before. So inspiring.

It's honestly disgusting to me some of the comments I'm seeing. This guy and his team are clearly very passionate about this and are trying their best to get things worked out as quickly as possible.

I don't believe this at all. I believe when you pre-order (which is BUYING) a game with the early access, i see it as you are PAYING for the early access too since it COMES WITH the product your BUYING. But hey, that's just my logic, and i am aware you and others will disagree with it which is fine and dandy. I respect it, but please respect the opinions of others like me who see it that way too.

Well the guy clearly poured his heart and soul into this game.. I'm still mad at the server issues, but goddamit seeing Yoshi cry makes it hard not to forgive him... Alright the game took a few shaky steps during launch, but I'm proud of what SE made out of the original FF XIV. With such a fantastic lead like Yoshi at the helm, the game is bound for greatness.

Quite frankly the team is being mismanaged if they can't find a CSR to come on here and give some sort of official comment about what measures are being implemented beyond limiting character creation. Buck stops back at Yoshi for that.

I keep seeing this same post that the players helped shape A Realm Reborn..

What exactly did we do? Most feedback was met with working as intended.

I think Yoshi poured his heart and soul into the FFXIV 2.0 project.

That being said, it's Day 2 of the so-called 'launch' and I can't even log in. So I'm sorry if I shed no tears for that speech, but I really didn't feel moved when the product he put his heart and soul into isn't even working as intended for all of his customers.

Edit: Also I would like to make one thing crystal clear -- I've been an alpha/beta/first-launch player for SEVERAL other games, and never have I encountered connectivity issues of this sort when the game went full-scale. Not to this extent. So people can say "This is just the way it is" all they like, but I can say from my experience, that this is getting ridiculous.

I think there's also a misunderstanding. I'm pretty sure hes not upset about any failure on their part, I think hes having more of a relief type crying episode. You know that thing you do after you've worked hard through some big part of your life, and at the end you have enormous relief and emotion? I haven't done anything like him, or ever will, but i know what that feeling is like. Also there's a lot of assumptions on what the cause of this failure is, and the unfortunate thing is, non of us can really be 100% sure what the real root cause is, unless you yourself work at the NA/EU datacenter. You can say it was a failure to prepare for the number of people you knew you'd have logging in, but unfortunately it isn't that simple. Knowing that fact doesn't automatically make you aware of what you need for launch, or can prepare you for all possible situations that may arise.As far as I'm concerned the only thing anyone has a right to complain about is the fact you can't login yet. Besides that fact, making assumptions on the facts, and causing hate all over the forum based on all these assumptions is a waste of everyone's time. Believe me I'm just as depressed as you guys about having a tough time logging in. I'm setting here clicking the A button for a hour to login saying what the hell everytime it puts me in queue, then drops me later on which pisses me off.
