This bothers me also. Personally i've completed everything ffxi had to offer back at the 75 cap days and again at 99 except for legion which i didnt touch but that wouldnt have mattered much as it was pretty much a zergfest like everything else that came at 99cap. I ran my own endgame LS for close to 3yrs on midgard before it merged into quetz and the content back then was imo far harder than the 99cap.
The fact that ppl are beating what is considered the pinnacle of difficult content in the game within a week of official launch doesnt exactly say much. Thats not a dig at the quality of play of those that are beating it now but it as Jaxxie said it too has been running through my head constantly.
Perhaps telling us how many times you had to try fights or how long before you beat each one would give the rest of us an idea of what to expect in a full 8man premade run in terms of difficulty? Having said that, i'm a firm believer that difficult content remains difficult even after mechanics have been figured out. Otherwise any fight with half decent mechanics/phases could be considered difficult untill its been figured out and gets beaten effortlessly time and time again. I guess what im asking is: do these fights remains difficult with little to no room for error even after everyone knows 100% what they are meant to be doing?
