I can agree with this.

Better learn the job early becuse higher lvl dungeons are no joke for healers.

I am sorry for all groups who have a healer that wants to focus on doing dmg as opposed to healing. I for one focus on healing, CC, then the dps spell. During the first three dungeons they were mainly tank and spank so I did a lot more dps, but when it comes to Haukke and beyond... CC is really a must and so I do my best to balance between healing and CC. So far only one wipe on my first run ever of Haukke where none of us in the group had done it before so that was an interesting learning experience lol. I was almost able to keep us all up through the lanterns and all the adds DD's but I got targetted by all the adds and once and I was the first to go boom lol.

I agree with the others though, always say something if you are the tank or the dd and aren't getting heals when you should be. Just make sure you are polite about it and also do us healers a favor and move out of graphics. Don't make our job harder just because you want more dps. It is unfair to us and makes us have to work twice as hard just so that you don't blame us for your death when you got killed by graphics!

I really think you should be utilizing everything you can if it's appropriate for a situation. Find a balance of healing and doing damage if you have time between heals, CC when you need to. There's no reason to ever just stand there and not be casting anything unless what you're fighting is very MP intensive.

Healing would be easy if the DPS played perfectly and never got hit, but they always make mistakes (which I cant afford to make, btw), so Im juggling dodging all the boss mechanics, keeping the DPS from dying, and still somehow healing the tank, who is taking the bulk damage of the boss
And then there is also the usual DPS dying in boss fight, and me having to find an opening so I can have enough time to cast Raise (8 seconds) without getting the tank killed

After my Garuda fight yesterday I just had to get up and chill for half an hour, it was so intense I was about to explode... And it was just normal mode, lol

DP...What? HPS heal per second!! healing is fun in this game, why get your hands dirty with monster blood when others can do it for you; while you look at the pretty lights from a distance like fireworks on new years

Absolutely right on that one, Love CNJ class

I tend to main heal/tank any pugs. The actual tank off-tanks one mob/boss while I deal with the rest. Thinking of letting tanks drop to 40% before first heal instead of 60%. Oh, and god forbid I unluckily get a critical heal.

My largest gripe has to be running all pugs with 2 Arcanists, a tank and myself. I never seem to get the more healer oriented gear as it is needed on by DPS. And I am too nice to need on crit/accuracy gear.

After unlocking the WHM, I gave up on the class as time spent did not see any reward.

Yeah i agree with yuren it's actually a really exciting class if u play like that, you have to be fast and react fast to pull it off it pays off great to the group and they notice and most of the time will thank you for working so hard; although dont get carried away as u mp bar cold awkwardly run out lol

I played the Copper Mines this morning, the 3rd time I've played healer. This is the first game I've played that role. I had a great party. 2 died do to getting one hitted, and didn't blame me. I just raised them and got them back up. Tank actually said he liked me. I use the custom target system on PS3 controller, L1 + x is for party. I was healing all 3 in one crazy fight with tons of monsters. Also kept pulling lots of hate while healing. It was fun. I love healer.
