I don't know what my Archer buddy does but good lord can he pull threat in a matter of a half a second if I'm not on the ball...

good tank is further complimented usually by a good party.

Its a team game after all.

With that said DPS let tank gain hate before doing ur big moves else its gonna be bad for everyone..

Archer can continually keep it's self buffs up.
- Straight/Straighter Shot.
- Proper rotation/timing/combination of Internal Release(Pug), Raging Strikes, and Hawk's Eye depending on the situation.

The class is a Dex build so Critical Hit Rate is typically higher than other DPS classes. However your friend like any DPS class, needs to watch their Enmity status window to properly adjust their timings and/or use Quelling Strikes on the fly.

If I pull hate as an archer for some reason. I run to the tank with the mob so its in their Flash/abilities range so long as it is safe. Otherwise, I shadowbind outside of range and mark it.

A good idea would be a call to arms... Give people who voluntarily queue for dungeons as healer or tanks (whenever a shortage is apparent) an additional quantity of Gil or some extra items or a random materia or something assist in making it worth while, if there were benefits to tanking I would gladly switch back to another one of my classes and help reduce duty finder queues... (BUMP IF YOU LIKE THIS IDEA)

Speak for yourself... I love tanking in this game and I hardly ever play a tank in MMOs.

Rage of Halone helps GLD a bit but, I agree. I'm only level 30 though we will see what changes later on.

Op raises a fairly valid point, and the DPS reply: I don't care if I don't follow the order, I can tank mobs that I pull off the GLD so I'm gonna go ahead and keep doing it! - Good luck with that post-Sastasha.

Did you ever stop and think that even if you CAN tank it, its not what you are supposed to be doing? Did you ever stop to think you are causing unnecessary trouble for your party? Did you stop to think that if you actually follow the mark order, you will actually kill the groups FASTER?

Did you ever stop to think that the tank who takes the time to mark the mobs is a great tank, and you should basically follow exactly what he says?

Oh yeah, you didn't stop to think about anything like that because all you think about is YOUR MAD DEEEPS and have no idea how to function in a group atmosphere. Go back to your hunter, thanks.

This is a very legitimate concern.

Maybe if they put in party voice chat for duty finder it wouldn't be a problem!
