SE dropped the ball

Actually, I'm a little surprised how smooth it has been. I logged in around 2:40 am PDT and only had to wait a minute in the login queue - I was prepared to not get in at all (I think Moogle is one of the most popular EU servers). I also didn't get a single disconnection during the 6 hours and no major lags. Granted the lvl 18~22 areas are packed full off people and FATEs are pure madness. Also they could dynamically adjust the spawning rate of mobs on crowded areas, it's been a KSfest to do some quests (though having a full party doing the same quest against other parties tents to help a bit). I'm clad I'm on PC, since my buddy playing on PS3 says he really can't see anything in the FATEs etc.

I know how the ppl who want to create a character on a specific server feel, but you really just need to wait. Took me 8 hours refreshing the server list in Phase 4 before I was able to create my char on the Moogle... It's all the merrier in the end when you finally get to play :)

Seriously, if anyone expects the first days of a new MMO to be flawless regardless if it's launch day, early access, or even open beta, you have some ridiculously high expectations. At east they have acknowledged the error and is fixing it. Be grateful the entire game didn't just flat out crash and we're not having a delay in launch or having our characters wiped.

Even the almighty WoW had worse problems than this on it's launch. Be patient. You act like SE stole something from you. And don't say your time/money. This EA was a perk meaning it was given to us as a reward for pre-ordering. No one twisted your arm to do it. I'd rather them find this problem now than after launch day.

I remember waiting in line for servers 4 hours plus when Aion launched. Then I'd get in the servers, get booted, then have to wait in line all over again :( so yeah this is one o fthe more stable launches I've encountered.

I'm extremely pleased with what they put out. Definitely the best MMO I've ever played.

OP: I already have to deal with not being able to play... so, like a normal adult, I'm going to occupy myself with other things... like going to the official forums and chatting with people there. Don't crash the forums with your negative nancy congestion. :mad:

The only issue here is that only NA/EU is being effected by all of these major, server downing errors. You should accept bugs on a launch, but only sheep will ignore the glaring fact that there is extreme prejudice against the NA/EU fan base being shown. Particularly on the amount of money SE will spend on hardware for this hemisphere's servers. Don't pity the blind for they choose to be ignorant. :o

So Kudos to SE for being better than 2004

As smooth as MMO launches can go, I'd say this one is going pretty well. A 3 hour downtime ain't that bad, gives me time to order sushi, grab a shower and chill out in front of the TV before the leveling game resumes. ;)

Its laughable how you ppl complain, appears that you guys don't have any mmo past history.

But its ok, this year, aparently you guys will have a lot of opportunities to learn what a crap launch really looks like, with about 4 or 5 MMO launch this year.

Of course that it is not a good thing and i am not happy with all this launches together, i mean, i can't pay for 5 mmos!!! : (

When people come to my work with complaints, I don't get to say "I did better than Wal-Mart".

If you're going to shut down some servers, shut down all your servers. There's nothing more aggravating than seeing green lights beside all the JP servers and red lights beside EVERYTHING else.
